2. Abstract/Synopsis
Mission Across the Continents is an autobiography, featuring the travels of a Comboni missionary. All the way from Italy until he has reached the Philippines, he had met friends he shared laughs with, children whose lives he has touched, peers who are now with God. The book shares about his faith and missionary experiences that coincide a lot with world history and that alone is a great story to begin with. With this book, Father Lorenzo wanted it to become a source of inspiration for the people who yearn for an exuberant and meaningful life.
3. Summary
Chapter I - Uganda Revisited
After studying journalism, on 1970, he went to Uganda to proceed with his missionary service. After thirty years, in 2007, Fr. Lorenzo went back to Uganda to revisit what was once his home. He was able to meet a boy who was named after him, Lorenzo Carraro. Junior, and he was also on his way to becoming a priest.
Chapter II – From the Mission Field Fr. Lorenzo’s stay in Uganda wasn’t always happy; because of the dictatorial form of government and rebellions wanting to overthrow the dictator, the atmosphere was always charged with tension and danger. He himself have went through being robbed by rebellions, a gun pointed at his head. He had good friends who died of being innocent civilians stuck in the middle of the war.
