    A) Thingamajigs and Things has total assets of $45,000 and $9,000 in liabilities. This gives a current ratio of 5.00:1. Wannabees has total assets of $150,000 and $85,000 in liabilities. This gives a current ratio of 1.76:1. Thingamajigs and Things is more likely to be approved for a loan, because it has a higher current ration. This means that their assets are higher than their liabilities (what they owe), and they are more likely to be able to make payments.…

To provide the quality that has customers returning for our service, we design the project by doing a penetration test at the end. This is because we assure all our jobs to be secured and free from exploitable vulnerabilities at the end. So, with the penetration test we will simulate a hacker and try everything to break into the network and steal information. If we are able to breach the network we will fix the vulnerability. This will continue until there is no more way for us to get in. The idea behind our strategy is that if we cannot get in, then hacker will not be able to get in either. This signifies a high standard of quality.…

In Unit 5 Activity 2 we were asked to predict and then find the brightness and flow rate of a closed circuit with a three cell battery pack, a long bulb, a capacitor parallel to the long bulb, and a round bulb. I originally predicted that the round bulb would be brighter when the circuit was first closed and when the circuit reached a steady state, and that the wire between the round bulb and the negative side of the battery would have a higher flow rate than the other wires. However, in the steady state the long bulb was actually brighter, and all the wires had the same flow rate. The new data allowed me to understand how different resistances in bulbs affects the brightness of bulbs in the circuit.…

A VPN works well for industries in which the interception of data could give a competitor an unfair advantage. For example, a VPN would be necessary for telecommuting employees who send proprietary data from their home computer to the network at the office,. Perhaps a good place for a VPN would be in a health-care environment, where it is essential that small amounts of data gets point to point without being intercepted and understood by a hacker. There could be many uses where data needs to get point to point with its integrity intact and viewed only by authorized personnel. Law-enforcement agencies, credit card companies, and the military may have numerous applications for VPNs.…

We have heard of the Columbine shooting, where in the spring of 1999 in Littleton, Colorado over a dozen people where killed and many others were wounded at the hands of two students. Or even more recently, we heard about the Virginia Tech massacre where a single student killed thirty-two people and wounded over twenty more. University of Texas, California State University, San Diego State University, the list of school violence is long and heart-breaking. Students and teachers have lost their lives by the dozens to gunmen that carried a grudge for some reason or another. These are extreme cases, for sure, and there is without a doubt a need for discipline in schools every where. However, zero-tolerance policies are not the answer to school discipline unless they can be reformed to have fewer gray areas and kept from being too strict, be less disruptive to the education process and allow teachers to keep their voices, and figure out how to correct claims of racial discrimination, regardless of claims that they are effective.…

Step To Interface Arduino + LabVIEW! 1. Purchase an Arduino board. You can find them at Myduino.com (For Malaysia) , Sparkfun (Over Sea) or other suppliers. Make sure to order a USB cable if you don’t already have one. There are two main boards. The Uno and the Mega. I purchased mine on Amazon.com. 2. Make sure you have LabVIEW 2010 or newer installed. The VIs that are included in the LIFA are saved in LV 2010, so this is the version of LV that you must have to be able to use the LIFA. If you do not have this version of LabVIEW, you can download a 30 day evaluation of it from ni.com/trylabview 3. Install NI-VISA Drivers. To LabVIEW, the arduino appears as a serial instrument device. To communicate with serial instruments in LabVIEW, you need to have the latest version of the NIVISA driver. You can get the latest NI-VISA drivers here. Make sure to select the latest Windows or Mac versions. 4. Install the Arduino IDE and drivers for Windows. You can download them from the Arduino website here. …
