By Maribel Hernandez Remote access means allowing people to access your business computer systems even when not directly connected to your company network. Options for giving salespeople wireless remote access to the home office server are as follows:
1. Reduce sales cycles- Many struggle to reduce lengthening sales cycles. Inability to close the sale quickly can open the door to competitors or adversely affect the customer relationship. Routing customers to the right resources at the right time can save time for the company along with the customer.
Access provides the sales team with necessary information remotely and in a timely manner. A salesperson on the road can download the latest pricing information before an important meeting or appointment.
2. Timely analysis and reporting of data- Knowledge of customer needs is key to success in which makes access to customer information critical for todays sales force. In a fast pace business market the ability of orders to be taken from the …show more content…

Remote access allows retail representatives to instantly obtain detailed profiles on retail stores, information on new and existing products and inventory data that is matched against what the representative actually finds at the retail location.
Inventory and financial management also improves giving better control of supplies, any discounting and an accurate view of customer account balances at all times.
3. Makes it easier for people to work more efficiently when away from their desk- The ability to work away from the desk is a blessing, not only does it take away from employees calling other employees to check something for them but it allows you to work from when and where you need too. Giving the ability to make decisions faster and resolve problems more quickly not having to play phone tag as much. By having access to the information needed at the right time help customers, partners and suppliers build a better relationship with the
business.
In my opinion, I believe that being able to access from anywhere is great. I myself would have to do the food order for my job so I would go to work write it all down then go home and enter it from any computer available to me. This was very convenient since the food order day was my day off not to mention having children who play sports. All in all, to succeed in such a competitive market, companies must provide the right tools to their sales people. This helps to meet customer expectations while increases sales productivity. People are able to work more efficiently because customers expect highly knowledgeable sales staff to deliver personalized service which leads to being able to reduce the sales cycle along with timely analysis and reporting.
