6. What is the primary information system in this area? How is it effective in performing its role? With what systems does it interrelate in receiving data or sending data?
According to my site coordinator the primary information system used within her department is Cerner. This system is very effective in performing its role as it allows patient information such as discharge instructions to be sent from the hospital to the patient primary care physician. When a discharge occurs this system also sends a report to dispatch so that room can be cleaned. My site coordinator also stated that this system provides her with reports on the following: core measures, patients whose primary language is other than English, status of outpatient vs. inpatient and patients going to radiology for treatment. Cerner also can be accessed by physicians from their homes which allows them to

The manager will then use this report to investigate the incident. Another report used is the GR Census Report. This report informs the manager of the number of inpatients verse outpatients for her unit. The report displays every department and is broken down by units.
9. What type of data security are desired or in progress? Why?
According to my site coordinator she feels as if data security is doing well. She stated that feels this way because the data security makes it hard to get into the system but does not make it difficult to get out. One area she would like to see improvement in is shorter log off times. For example, if an employee walks away from the computer and patient information is still displayed she would like to see a warning appear after 3 minutes of idle time warning that the information will be closed unless clicking the warning box.
10. How does this area recognize when the information system needs

There are many factors involved in this scenario. For example, the building may lend itself to certain network designs. You may have multiple floors or a single floor, Multiple data closets or just one. You may have virtualized servers or desktops. You will want to accommodate all these into your design. 50% may seem like too much now, but realistically, 200 or 300% might be more accurate.…

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for general lighting. Appearing as practical electronic components in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness. When a light-emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. An LED is often small in area (less than 1 mm2), and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern. LEDs have many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching. However, LEDs powerful enough for room lighting are relatively expensive, and require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.Light-emitting diodes are used in applications as diverse as aviation lighting automotive lighting, advertising, general lighting, and traffic signals. LEDs have allowed new text, video displays, and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are also useful in advanced communications technology. Infrared LEDs are also used in the remote control units of many commercial products including televisions, DVD players and other domestic appliances. LEDs are also used in seven-segment display.…

This depends on whether they have a wireless router or wired, if they have a wireless router then some internet ready televisions have wireless ability. Either way would work though running an Ethernet cable from the router into the back of the television would give the internet connect that is needed. Looking at the VoIP (Voice over IP) I would suggest Vonage as the service carrier for phone. The phone adapter and software needed for the VoIP is normally included with the purchase of Vonage phone service. The question is rather vague so not sure what other devices they would want to share between the computers that are networked in this scenario.…
