1. Introduction
This report aims to explore the views of those who support nuclear energy as a source of electricity and those who oppose it. It will also analyze the issue of using nuclear energy as a power source, why this issue is so significant as well as the people involved in this issue.
2. The issue
Due to the rising cost and at the same time, the declining availability of fossil fuel, many countries seek cheap, alternative ways to produce electricity for their people. As nuclear energy is cheap because of the large amount of uranium reserve on Earth and that it is also able to produce large amount of electricity, it has become the most likely solution to solving this issue.
3. The significance of the issue
Nuclear energy has the potential to succeed fossil fuels as the main source of generating electricity. This is due to the declining availability of fossil fuels around the world. As a result, nuclear energy seems to be the more likely alternative to fossil fuels as power source. However, the use of nuclear energy brings negative side effects especially to the environment and human population due to its radioactivity.
4. The participants in the issue
The main parties involved in this issue include governments of countries as well as advocates for nuclear energy as an alternative energy source and the citizens of those countries who are against nuclear energy because of the negative byproducts that it releases.
5. The differing views
1.1 Arguments for nuclear energy
Supporters of this argument firmly believe that nuclear energy is the solution to solving the problem of using fossil fuel for producing electricity.
1.1.1 No greenhouse gases produced
Unlike fossil fuel, which produces greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which is a principal contributor to global warming, nuclear energy
