Nurse Ant Diligence Summary

The Attribute of an Ant: Diligence by Emily Baffa Have you ever heard of a nurse ant? Although most people don’t like insects, which I don’t understand, lots of people will be impressed by the nurse ant. The queen ant is laying eggs all the time. Do you know what happens to the eggs after she lays them? The nurse ant takes it away. After this the nurse will become like a ‘nanny’ to the egg. The nurse ant will work hard without cease. She must make sure the egg is clean; she must wash it multiple times every day. She also has to turn it once every few minutes. She must make sure that it is kept warm. If the nest gets to cold the nurse ant will go outside the nest, lie in the sun for a few minutes, then return to the nest and warm the egg. The
nurse ant is always busy; she does everything that the egg, larvae, and pupa require to stay alive; she even feeds the larvae and helps the pupa get out of its shell once it starts to hatch. Because of all they do they are the most incredible insect; they show Gods brilliant design when he made them. They are the most diligent creatures I have ever seen.
