They have a scale test they do by asking questions and based on a number it tells you if your cognitive level is increasing or decreasing. My grandma's cognitive level is decreasing and I believe she has short term memory problems. Now my mom and I have to make a decision on whether she should come live in Kansas City or in the nursing home. Well, my grandma says "neither, I'm staying in my home". This has been an ongoing battle since Feb. I had faith that my grandma could improve if she had more therapy so I was able to talk the nursing home into taking her back for three weeks for skilled care. The three weeks are up this Saturday 4/16/16 and now is the time to decide what happens. I thought the best thing to do was to have her move to KC, but after talking with my mom I see this has really taken a toll on her with the recent death of my father. She's just started to get settled in her new life style of being alone and I don't think she can handle the care of another sick family member. I know this sounds cruel, but my parents were together for 40+ years and his sudden death was devastating. I don't think she can take care of her mom and be emotionally stable herself which leaves me with the only option of putting my grandma in a home and
