Filipinos has been experiencing many problems. One of those problems is their nutritional status. Filipinos are one of the unhealthiest persons in the world and are considered malnourished or obese. We may seem physically fit but are we truly certain that it is true, that we receive our proper nutrition, the personal nutrition our body needs?
Our country has a very young population, it consists mostly of youth and despite that we are experiencing malnourishment affecting our abilities to excel in what we do. Malnourishment can be caused by factors we cannot affect, something we cannot change like health, physical, social, economic and other factors. Being malnourished is such a problem it could also affect other people and our country. Most children are affected by this malnourishment. The general declining trend in the prevalence of underweight, wasting and stunting among Filipino children noted in the past 10 years was countered with the increase in the prevalence rate in 1998. Another problem is the stage of being Overweight and obese which are also prevalent in the country. It affects the Filipinos which endanger them to certain nutrition and health risks. Being malnourished can be prevented or even stopped, with proper knowledge everyone can be as healthy as one can be, because the country can provide for the needs of the Filipinos for food and other factors, there is no reason to be malnourished.
