O Reilly Analysis
Topher Carroll The O’Reilly Factor May 29, 2012

The O’Reilly Factor has a reputation for exerting a very conservative overtone, naturally many question whether the typical “news standards” are being followed.
The show leads off with a segment on Planned Parenthood and the presidential election, an issue where Bill O’Reilly has already indicated his stance that he is “pro-life”. When it comes to such partisan dividing issues, O’Reilly asserts his stance, and then goes on to further undermine the liberal stance. The problem is that O’Reilly portrays a bipartisan attitude but acts loyal to his favored Republican side.
In this first segment, O’Reilly tells the story of how Planned Parenthoods are starting to promote abortions done depending

There is no point in the show where you feel he is sending you mixed signals on his viewpoints on a certain topic.
“There is no question that Planned Parenthood is a pro-abortion outfit, which has been in trouble for years”, he goes on “Undercover videos have documented underage abortions, abortion advice associated with prostitution and now gender selection”. The problem is not that his words are unclear the problem is he pretends to be doing objective news with an all but obvious direction to it. Another important segment involves old Bill interviewing the potential VP Republican candidate Marco Rubio. O’Reilly almost immediately takes the form of somewhat of a big brother to Marco Rubio. There is a slide shown promoting the premiere of his new and upcoming book, “An American Son”, without even a mention of what the book is about. The clip ends in O’Reilly busting Rubio’s chops that if indeed he is offered the ticket as Mitt Romney’s running mate and the 2012 V.P., Rubio would feel a patriotic obligation to immediately take

Justin Trudeau’s interview from the National Post illustrates his contradictory views about abortion. The intention of the author is to show Trudeau’s opinion on abortion whether he will agree with is faith or his political party. It is effective, since he clearly explains his opinion and the liberal opinion saying“I am personally pro-life and have long held these beliefs,” and “The liberal party is the party of chart of rights and freedom.” Trudeau present’s how he keeps his point of view to himself however letting women have the choice of an abortion. Justin Trudeau should take a stand against abortion, in hope that*, it will make the murdering of children illegal. Justin Trudeau should not describe himself as two people, the real him…

The essential problem, when it comes down to it, is that even though his beliefs don’t really differ much from, say a common member of society, the fact that he has created the documentary to drill into viewers his, and only his values of truth, it means that there is no more room for us viewers to truly understand the issue, and make up our own minds; which is not how a documentary should be made.…

Planned Parenthood is a public health clinic that provides sex ed, birth control, abortion, and plenty of other services. The program is constantly under constant attack for being a waste of government funding and supporting abortions which are considered immoral by a large chunk of America. But Joseph E. Potter and Kari White argue that Planned Parenthood shouldn’t be defunded by Congress because of how negative the outcomes are that have been brought about in the past. Potter and White convince others by using rhetorical devices such as statistics and anecdotes.…

The Weekend Update gave the audience a well-earned break from the excess amount of Trump we had seen for the night. The mock news show attacked both political parties by calling out Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, President Obama, and of course Donald Trump. The Update also welcomed a guest speaker, “Drunk Uncle” the self-proclaimed number one Trump fan. The character was spot on in his portrayal of Trump supporters: drunken, insane, and full of hatred.…

Planned Parenthood has been in the makings since 1916. The organization started out as a health clinic that offered free birth control to women. It continued to progress over the years until 1942 the organization, which was called Little Rock Birth Control Clinic at the time, changed to Planned Parenthood. The organization still goes by this name to this day. Although the organization offers much more than just free birth control to women. In fact, in recent times the organization has become the center of attention for many groups of people because of one of their most popular services; abortion. Most people see abortion as an equivalent to murder. Many people claim that if a woman did not want to have a baby she should not have participated…

Many pro-life supporters demanded that congress defund the organization, and use the money to send to other organizations that do not offer abortions. Republican Presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have voiced their opinions that they will not use federal money to support Planned Parenthood. Both candidates included that they will not support must-pass governmental funding legislation if it includes funding for the organization. This action could possibly risk a governmental shutdown. The reason both candidates are threatening to do this is because Obama would veto legislation that would defund Planned Parenthood. Many people will wait and see the other presidential views on Planned Parenthood on tonight’s Republican debate. Citizens will also wait and see if both parties are able to agree on an already dwindling federal budget for the next year, and if that will include Planned Parenthood or…

Of the 2.7 million Americans who benefit from Planned Parenthood, a large majority come from low-income families or neighborhoods; consequently, over half of PPFA clinics are located in underrepresented sectors in order to cater to the needs of the impoverished and marginalized (Mitts & Attanasio). This accessibility is especially important in a time when the chief support of health care, hospitals and family doctors, are increasingly moving away from poorer areas, where the most needy often live. Planned Parenthood ventures to eliminate the apparent correlation between affluence and health through targeting low-income areas. Of those benefiting from PPFA, CNN Correspondents Goldshmidt and Strickland wrote, “Nearly 80% had incomes at or below 150% of the federal poverty level”, as cited in a March Government Accountability Office Report (Goldshmidt & Strickland). Those poverty-stricken and unable to afford health insurance are still able to receive services from Planned Parenthood at severely reduced prices based on income level and determined by Title X’s sliding discount fee scale. Title X is the only government-funded grant program dedicated strictly to family planning and reproductive health services for low-income and uninsured patients, and it allocates a quarter of its funding to Planned…

Back in the 1970’s people rebuked the idea of Planned Parenthood. When they thought of it, the thought of abortion was directly connected. In all actuality, you would be surprised at how wrong they are. It is said that above 90 percent of the institutions population have terminated pregnancies, but really only three percent of the entire amount of women getting assistance partake in the procedure. Although, only three percent of the nation’s babies are aborted by Planned Parenthood, pro-life supporters still believe that is enough to terminate the program. To follow through with such a request would not only not decrease the abortion rate but it will also lead these women into the back alleys and liquor sanitized, home-made surgical tools. To rid the program is only asking to endanger hundreds of lives, especially the new lives brought into the world unwanted. The newborn who reminds her mother of the rape she experienced every single time she looks into her little eyes is an injustice…

Even though Planned Parenthood may provide abortion procedures, they account for only 3% of their total services (“2013-2014 Annual Report”). A large concern for anti-abortion critics is that they are indirectly paying for abortions with their tax dollars. Planned Parenthood, does in fact receive 41% of their annual revenue from the government, but only in two ways: through Title X grants and Medicaid reimbursements (“2013-2014 Annual Report”; Kurtzleben). Title X, the only federal bill specifically for contraceptive and sexual health services, prohibits the use of its funds for abortions (Cohen). Medicaid also, as of 1997, bans the use of its funds for abortions and abortion-related services (Richardson). Because both of Planned Parenthood’s government funders ban the use of their funds for abortion, no government money is used for abortions. Therefore, critics do not have to worry about indirectly paying for an abortion. Taxpayer money is merely used to fund their other services which benefit the health of both men and…

Goldberg has also won a total of 12 Emmy Awards. He is a widely known icon in the Media world, for being very blunt and pointing out the truth about media networks being biased. Goldberg has gained many fans because of the truthfulness in his books, but has also gained many enemies. One of his most popular books, Bias A CBS Insider Exposes How The Media Distort The News, is known for pointing out many of the networks for being biased when broadcasting stories about Liberals. He points out many of the networks for being biased, and the effort they put in to discredit other networks for having a different political belief. On an online video, Goldberg states that media companies describe liberals, as detrimental to society, by pointing out the liberals more than they do the conservatives, he also states that the media companies compare the statements made towards anyone one against their political belief, such as liberals, to news reporters describing crimes as stating the ethnicity of a person committing a crime to only a stating a name. Goldberg describes networks as abusive to liberals, and unfair to society because they only report the stories that benefit them and the political belief, and the rankings of the network itself. Goldberg experienced the bias in the media first hand, he was fired because he publicly stated he that he was a liberal, which did not go so well with the network he worked closely with at the time. He states that network will belittle and put in as much effort as they need, to discredit any other view or network that believe in a view other than the view that broadcasting network supports. Media bias is not widely known about, however it plays a huge role in today’s media and occurs on a daily basis. People are often tricked into believing a certain way because of the convincing argument of the network, and not many people are educated in the media bias,…

Abortion is defined as: "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as simple as the definition provided above. Much like every aspect of human life, a statement is neither right nor wrong, but simply left open for interpretation. There is no black and white in life, only gray areas. Some issues tend to provide us more gray areas than others. Abortion is a prime example of that. Those who refute abortion claim that it is the murder of a helpless baby who has not yet had the chance to live and function as a human being. However, the debate opposite it is just as fervent: it is a woman 's right to choose what happens to her body, and if she decides that she is not capable of bringing a child into this world, than she shouldn 't be forced to out of nature. Where do we draw the line between humane and inhumane, necessitated death and murder? When does a woman 's right over her internal reproductive organs become that of the government 's? Is abortion wrong or is it right? Are rape, incest, and potential fatality to the mother exceptions when abortion is "okay"? Are there truly any at all? So many questions are raised by such a fervent debate, that we must look at both sides of the issue to better understand it in a general, but yet thorough approach.…
