Introduction: Worldwide the number of diseases are increasing with the passing of time, these diseases are called epidemic diseases because of the spread this disease’s in every minute that passes in the world; for instance, diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases and obesity these are the most that afflict people in the world. The obesity especially could be a reason for all diseases mentioned and other diseases, so this takes us to the main point, which is a problem of obesity and overweight. This problem experienced by a lot of people and the most categories are vulnerable to this problem are children, adolescents and elderly because these ages are the hardest cases in treatment. The huge increase in obesity in over the past sixty years made the World Health Organization to declare it a global epidemic in all over the world (ACKD, 2006). In twenty-first century the statistics on obesity and overweight are harrowing with close of half a billion from world peoples. Prevalence about ten percent to forty percent in the most of European countries in over the past ten years. According to the Saudi Society of Family and Community Medicine they have solutions for obesity the aim of these solutions are to preventing weight gain, weight loss so that up to a reasonable goal and to maintain the desired weigh. On the other hand they give some recommendations for the patient such as, each patient is a different case in losing weight, modify the food behaviors and Increase daily physical activity. There are five types of treatments, but will mention two of them; the first one by diet, the diet is to put a schedule which contains the time, the types of food, the quantity, the place and with count the calories. Diet does not mean complete deprivation of some essential nutrients such as carbohydrates and meat. Diet may affect the daily need of vitamins and minerals that the body need such as calcium, iron advised to take additional doses of them, under the supervision of the doctor. Prefer to eat three meals a day with a snack for example; some kinds of fruits. Meals that low in fat and low in sugars and rich in fiber. Must measuring the weight and height and count the amount of calories through special equations that depend on the age, gender, the general health condition and the body mass all of this should be under full medical supervision. The second solution is change the food behaviors for example; chew food well and slowly, drinking six to eight glasses of water a day, recording the weight every

    The past twenty years has seen obesity rates in the UK increase dramatically (HSCIC, 2013), resulting in the reduction and prevention of obesity becoming a major public health priority. The World Health Organisation (WHO) (2013) defines obesity as ‘abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health’ and body max index (BMI) is commonly used in the classification of overweight and obesity. A BMI of 25-29 makes an individual overweight and a BMI of 30 or above is classified as obese (WHO, 2013). A concerning statistic showed that in 2011 a mere 34% of men and 39% of women were defined as being a healthy weight; with a BMI between 18.5 and 25 (NHS, 2013), compared with rates in 1993 where 44% of men and 50% of women fell into this category (HSCIC, 2013). The Health Survey for England in 2010 (NHS: The Information Centre, 2012) stated that 62.8% of adults and 30.3% of children are overweight or obese, with 26.1% of these adults and 16% of these children being obese. Obesity is a major risk factor for the development of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, some cancers and may be detrimental to certain social aspects of life, such as finding work and can affect mental health (Department of Health, 2013). As a result of these obesity trends in 2011 it was found that approximately half of obese men and women suffered from high blood pressure and there were nearly 12,000 admissions to hospital for obesity related illnesses in 2011-2012, which had increased more than 11 times compared with figures in 2001-2002 (NHS, 2013). In 2007, the Foresight Report (Department of Health, 2007) predicted that without action being taken 60% men, 50% and 25% children would be obese by 2050. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States over the past 20 years. Obesity epidemic has affected every part of the world. When speaking about United States, more than 72 million adults are obese and there is not a single state that has an obesity rate less than 15 % (CDC Vitalsigns 2010). Among all Americans Obesity has been directly linked to hypertension, diabetes, cancer, depression and many other health problems. Each year, approximately 400.000 deaths result from obesity and its complications and costs the national economy nearly $122.9 billion annually (Menifield 2008). In addition, as of 2004, the proportion of obese adults in the U,S. reached 32% of the total population. Among adolescents, obesity has increased to 17.1% of the population between the 1999-2004 periods (Menifield 2008). This increase in prevalence has made obesity a threat to public health in United States. There are various reasons of obesity such as behavior, environment and genetic factors. One of the causes of obesity is energy imbalance. This means eating too many calories compared to physical activity. As we know that, nowadays people spend more time watching T.V and playing video games. Moreover food portion size has also increased not only at home but also in many restaurants. In addition, environment and behavior play a large role causing people to be overweight. People make decision base on their culture, values and beliefs. For example, in some culture it is not important for women to exercise or women are not allowed to go for a walk.
