1. Evaluate the objectives and indicators in Exhibit 7.3.2. Should any be redefined and, if so, provide examples of redefined objectives and/or indicators.
The objectives and indicators provide feedback about productivity in order to help workers perform more effectively. Each indicator should have a particular quantitative level of performance. Objective 1: maintain a high standard of quality, can be redefined to a more precise objective by clearly defining quality. Indicator 1.1 should be redefined to clearly explain the quantitative level of performance of dollar value of returned defective merchandise.
2. Based on what you know about performance appraisal and ProMES, what are the most important features of the ProMES system? Indicate how SRU’s current ProMES system does or does not

Research with ProMES indicates that it is a highly effective method for improving performance while also improving job satisfaction and reducing job stress.89 ProMES is a productive tool that give workers precise performance information they need to increase their productivity and this gives them a sense of ownership and empowerment.
5. What is your assessment of the overall performance of SRU’s 2nd quarter? How useful is an overall effectiveness score when trying to integrate all data? Based on the performance data and contingency graphs for the 2nd quarter, how well did SRU perform on the indicators? Where is there room for improvement?
My assessment of the overall performance of SRU’s 2nd quarter is poor. The overall effectiveness score is -61 which indicates that the overall performance is poor and falls below the minimum level of acceptable performance. The overall effectiveness score is useful when trying to integrate all data because it helps to identify priorities for improvement and provides the index of overall productivity. There is room for improvement in cost control, this being the difference between the actual and planned
