Odysseus As A Leader In Homer's Odyssey
Not a born leader!
In the Odyssey, Homer portrays how everyone is not as mighty as they seem to be in order to depict how not everyone is a great leader.
The Odyssey is about the adventurer and leader Odysseus who is on an epic journey back home. The only problem is his crew that went along on his journey was all met in an untimely demise, the reason being, Odyessus was unfit to be a leader among his crew. This was a tragedy could have been avoided. In this analysis it will tell the reader on why Odysseus was a terrible leader for this epic journey to begin with.     In lines 30-55 in the “Odyssey”, Odysseus is posed with the threat of the Lotus Eaters. To illustrate, the Lotus Eaters offer his men the Lotus, a flower, but it makes those who eat it forget who they are, “Browsing on/That native bloom, forgetful of their homeland.”(Line 46&47).
