Culture . Homer , the author of this epic poem , The Odyssey shows us the journey of Odysseus who
seeks glory by using various stratagems to overcome hardship in his life. The Odyssey shows how people
earn power in society by overcoming obstacles as Odysseus fought for his honor and proved his
superiority over others throughout his journey.
The first example of how Odysseus earns his powerful status is by dismissing the suitors’ unwelcome
