Officer Training Corps Expectations
I want to have the distinguished honor of enrolling in the Reserve Officer Training Corps because I wish to do something bigger than myself so that one day when time has pushed forward I can look back and say my single greatest decision in life was to be courageous and join the military through ROTC. Acceptance into the program would not only open a door to a life unlike any other, but it would give that unit another talented, hungry, and driven mind in it’s ranks. There is no other candidate that wants this opportunity more than myself. I realized the opportunity to become an officer in the United States Army, and I pursue it with a purpose everyday. That purpose being to conquer my goals one bridge at a time with precision and accuracy,
and overcome the doubt and naysayers, mere obstacles, in the way of my higher calling. My goals in life are simple: To be successful and to be the best person I can be. Earning success is somewhat self explanatory in the sense of completing ROTC. Success is what the Army strives for in everything they do. The adaptation required by the military will push me into a state of mind where there is no such thing as, “Failure,” and that there is a solution to every problem. Becoming the best I can be will be something I do through my position, it will reflect in my uniform, and show in my ability to complete assignments and tasks. Essentially, I will eat, sleep, and breathe the ideas of motive and initiative, than apply it into something as simple as the way I walk to how i react to a crisis. Career obligation means to do one’s job and do it well, not for personal gain, but for the good and advancement of that company or field of business. Those that do not feel the need to perform in their chosen career path are wasting the opportunity of progressing past basic levels. Individuals who do not fulfill their assignments whether in the office, military, or medical field cause an unforeseen ripple of events that reaches even the lowest level employment in that department, making said person, the weakest link.
