with retirees. There has been a huge transformation of JROTC over the many years. Today, JROTC teaches high school students many life lessons and morals that need to be learned.
Students learn leadership skills through this program. By becoming a good leader they learn how to communicate with others, work together, and teamwork. They participate in different activities that teaches them how be good substantial leaders. Many do not realize it, but leadership roles will help us succeed after college. One of these ways is that we develop communication skills. JROTC coincides with public speaking. We learn how to talk in front of audiences. Public speaking takes part in many careers today. To become a good leader you also must gain responsibility. As a leader, you are not only responsible for yourself you are responsible for those surrounding you. I believe that in the future ROTC will not be as big of an impact upon people. Due to the recent budget cuts there have been some ROTC closures. This really does not affect the students it mainly affects the staff. There will be many job losses because of this. Due to the cuts the newcomers will not get as much of a benefit as we do. Also since they are going to cut down military recruitment, people might not find the program as beneficial to them anymore. It is not my hopes that this will
happen. JROTC has had a really huge impact upon my life. This program has helped me to overcome my fear of talking in front of an audience. It has also has helped me to gain those leadership skills that I talked about in the previous paragraphs. With those leadership skills that I have learned I use them guide and direct other individuals to be great leaders. It has helped misguided children to get on the right track. I believe it has had a large impact on our generation as a whole. Maybe one day we all can become great leaders and turn this world around. I always remember this quote when guiding others, “If everyone had a mind like me, what kind of world would this world be.” The reason I remember this quote is because I never want to mislead anyone.
