Oh You Just Got Schooled Analysis

“ Oh you just got schooled.” nobody would like getting schooled. I think “ Schooled” is an appropriate title for the novel. The meaning of schooled is learn a lesson the hard way. There are three characters that I think that got schooled badly are Rain, Sophie Donnelly, and Capricorn Anderson.
Sophie Donnelly (daughter of Mrs. Donnelly) got schooled badly. She got schooled because she use to hate cap and pour water on him and now since she found out that cap got the bracelet she now appreciates him for being nice to her all this time when she was not nice to him. On page 176 is says “ Cap had bought the bracelet and had it engraved so I wouldn't feel bad about Dad blowing me off… he did this for no other reason than to make me happy.” She
He is considered as schooled because he realizes that there is more outside of Garland. On page 179,180 in says, “ My mind kept wandering back to the halls of C Average Middle School- the crash of locker doors, the babble of excited conversations. The ringing of the cell phones, the beeping of the Game Boys,... But it had its own rhythm and urgency and life. And I missed it so much it was almost like an ache…Did I want to go back? How could I? I spent all my time there wishing i was here. Yet life kept calling me.” In the beginning of the story cap didn`t want to got the new school and he wished he was back in Garland. Now that he is in Garland he is realizing that he actually likes it at his school and he wants to go back. I know how he feels. That how I felt when I moved that was sad but I made it this far and so can Cap.
Rain, Sophie, and Cap got schooled really badly, but all the characters in this book got schooled. Schooled was one of the words that people used in the old days but the meaning still means the same. The meaning is to learn a lesson the hard way. That is why I think “Schooled” is an appropriate title. We can learn from all the things that they did. And if we take them to heart it could affect our lives
