Old ways
Studying is not that hard, we just need to go back were theres no Net, wifi. Stuying old ways are more effective but time consuming. But if you want to learn it will surely take time to do so. We cant literally blame people who invented this kind of entertainment since their objective is for the great and easy way of work. It is us the people who take advantage or maybe lazy or get addicted to it. We must have control. Like as if the government will control our time usage in wifi.

These technological advancements are often very overwhelming and major sources of distraction. For example, Source G is a political cartoon created by Paul Noth that portrays a man in a lab coat at a desktop with a tab open that says “The Internet wants to destroy your productivity” with a button underneath labeled “always allow” This cartoon helps to highlight how the exponential freedom the internet provides can easily lead us to get distracted and stray away from…

With no internet students will recognize how much more focused they will be.…

David Goldberg, in his article “If Technology is Making Us Stupid, It’s Not Technology’s Fault” posits that the blame in the deterioration of human intelligence lies not with computers, but with the fashion of their use: “… it is not the technology, but the social conditions of their use that are the most compelling concerns here” (91). We as a society have been thrust into an age wherein there is a gadget for everyone and everything. The responsibility to bend these tools to our will or let them hinder our development is paramount to the success of generations to come and is inherently left to the individual. To place the blame on the technology itself is pure folly. Would one question the tool of a carpenter, or the carpenter’s wielding of it in the crafting of a piece?…

Times change and people change with them. Over the last two decades, there have been significant advances in technological innovations. Because of the creation of laptops, cellphones, tablets, and more, information is much more accessible to the average person. Today, the average person spends about 7 hours of their day using some form of media technology. (Communications Market Report) The statistics are even higher for children and teenagers, who spend about 53 hours using media technology a week. (Generation M2 Report) The excessive use of media technology can be attributed to anything from communicating on social networking cites to participating in tutorial sessions for classes. No matter the reason for using media technology, education officials have observed that the way young people learn has begun to change. For example, students (k-12) no longer have to read through encyclopedias to find out facts; instead they can simply search for facts on the Internet. Because of the change in learning, education officials have advocated for change in the traditional education curriculum. They want to move away from the traditional way of learning---books, paper, and pencils—to a more technological based curriculum.…

Smith begins by establishing the connection today’s students have to the internet and its resources. “Pencils and paper,” he says, are being moved out of the way for “keyboards, webcams, and online drop boxes (Smith 3).” Smith attacks his argument using examples that seem to come from his experience with MyRED and EBSCO search engine, he claims that now more than ever students are completely dependent upon online resources (6). He goes on to mention the convenience of such online supplements, such as being able to register at any time online with MyRED, the ability to check grades or assignments from anywhere on Blackboard, or being able to access a greater wealth of information through search engines like EBSCO(6). As soon as Smith has established the reliance on technology that students have today, he shifts gears. Smith before he goes anywhere with his information, his approach to explaining the amount of weight put on students through the internet shifts to explaining how today’s students are irresponsible and can’t handle the freedom of online…

Students have a lot of pressure when it comes to homework and how much they count toward our grades. So when it comes to needing help the internet has helped us because its hard to do it on our own.In the article "Education 2.0: Never memorizing again" the text says "It is enough that they know about the Battle of Hastings, without having to memorize that it was in 1066. They can look that up and position it in history with a click on Google,” he said." Not every student can memorize everything as if it was programmed into our mind as a teacher taught it to us. With the internet the little things we forget it gives us many sources and information that become useful to us. Some may argue that technology is dangerous and causes issues. In which in the article" Attached to technology and paying a price" it says" The resulting distractions can have deadly consequences, as when cellphone-wielding drivers and train engineers cause wrecks. " In which has been and is still a huge problem ,But instead of taking away technology in which can help us but instead just teach teenagers the benefits of technology and to not use it unwisely. Taking away technology for a week would just make people want to use it more in which means when the week is over we would constantly use it in which could cause more wrecks and more…

“There is growing acceptance all over the world that the quality of the teacher is the most important determinant of how much students learn. In this context, it makes sense to check that the national curriculum provides the right balance between providing a firm structure for shared national expectations for what students should learn and allowing enough scope for teachers to have the freedom to use their creativity to maximise student learning.” Discuss.…

The Internet has resulted in a generation of lazy young people. The Internet is a source used by everyone from the ages of 5 to 80; they use this source for entertainment, research and even to find a significant other, but due to the limitless possibilities of the Internet it has caused people to become lazy. For example when I was younger and I use to have to do math homework and I would just copy the whole problem from the Internet, after I failed a few tests I realized it wasn’t the smartest idea to copy from the internet anymore. The Internet is a resulting cause of laziness because of easy access, social networking, and no need to manually do things. The younger generation have a hard time going to the library to do research for a paper or project, because they feel as if they can go to Google and get the same amount of information if not more then they need. For example I never went into a library until I was in college, I realized how much more information there was in a library compared to just using Google and I also knew that the information was reliable. According to a survey conducted by Youth-Net, it was found that 75 percent of 16-to-24 year-olds feel that they couldn't live without the Internet. The report also found that 82 percent would look online for advice.…

This message I think is releveant to every college student today. Technology today has a huge influence on the way we learn and socialize. Having easy access to technology makes life a lot easier sometimes. When you need to know an answer to a question quickly you can look it up on your phone. Just like that you have the answer and you don't even know why. The only way to comprehend what you learn is to study properly without using the internet. It is more beneficial to read a textbook/notes than looking up information on the internet. Being on the internet is a distraction just like Dan Fleisch said. On some computers you can now have your text messages pop up on your computer if you are on it. Since I've been at college I turned off those…

It has been said throughout time that, necessity is the mother of invention, but what facilitates necessity in today’s modern society has become a vast gray area. As a society, we are use to, and so dependent on, such modern conveniences, as high-speed internet, cell phones, laptops, tablets, search engines, and GPS, so much so that we would not know how to function without them. The dependence on modern technology is making way for a whole generation that is incapable of doing anything manually and potentially affecting their social skills, as well as making their brains lazy.…

Instead of reading a book and looking up information that we don’t know, we Google everything and get a fast answer. We instantly receive so much information it’s overwhelming and won’t stick. I remember growing up as a kid and doing my homework with the television on. I really wish I never did that when I was a child because now I have trouble doing homework without any noise. However, there are many drawbacks to the increasing use of technology such as deteriorating health, lack of communication skills and poor time management. It has been quoted that ‘we live in an era of smart phones and dumb people.’ This statement espouses that as we are co-dependent on technology to do the heavy work for us so we become complacent and this hinders creativity, critical thinking and the use of logistics. In today’s schools, students are encouraged to use technology for research purposes. However, students use the ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ options to do their work for them which inhibit the learning process thus strengthening their dependency on technology to do the thinking for them.…
