One Act Play
Life is too Short for Unsaid Feelings.
Lillian is about to walk into her three-story house with six roommates in Eugene, Oregon. The outside of the worn-down house, is colored a faint blue with an orange roof. The neighborhood surrounding this home is swarmed with rambunctious college students, being that this is a college town. Lillian and her six roommates (Todd, Amelia, Delilah, Jared, Christian, and Dalen) all attend the University down the street. Todd is a very outgoing and perky person. He spends a lot of time working on designs for bands and his infamous magazine “Abstract”. Amelia is an alcoholic, on the verge of dropping out of college, and goes to shows at the local bars. Delilah is a nurse and the only roommate in a relationship. Her boyfriend of 2 years is named Wilson. Jared is a die-hard musician with a rock and roll mentality. Christian is the house members’ voice of reasoning. Dalen is hardly home. She is an ambitious model with a dream to move out of Eugene.
As Lillian approaches the door, she wipes her feet on the patterned rug outside. She enters to find Christian sitting on the living room couch reading a novel titled, “Knowledge within the Mind”. She interrupts his focus when she asks,
Lillian: Hello there. What are you reading?
Christian: Just…. (Hesitates, finishes a few more lines in his novel) Um… just about…well, to put it simply, the way we respond to “life”.
Lillian: Ah, I see, so probably nothing I’d fancy too much to read myself then? (Christian smirks)
Christian: You might enjoy it. How has your day been? (He pats the seat for her to sit down, and stares at the clock on the wall) I didn’t realize it was 6 o’clock”
Lillian laughs. She hangs her coat on the coat hanger next to the door and sits down next to Christian. She inhales deeply and slumps against the pillow. She puffs out a deep sigh Lillian: Yeah it’s six. As for my day, my luck with job hunting has proceeded to going nowhere, I failed my calculus test today, my

Octavia rented a two-bedroom apartment in the city of Paterson. Octavia kept her apartment organized. Everything was its rightful place. Nothing was thrown about hap-hazard like in Juliet’s studio apartment in South Shore. The light grey walls of the living room had accents of light pinks, blues, and silvers. The sofa and love seat were an elegant silver topped with pale pink throw pillows. The large television on the wall faced the grey couch. Surrounding the TV was various, simple paintings in dark frames. A glass coffee table was in front of the sofa. Neatly stacked magazines were on top of the clear…
