After some excellently well placed calls I was taken to a different area from the east entrance, where I met Sandy who loved the museum and did not have a particular expertise except for she knew what she liked. She knew the museum. Sandy also knew where all the exhibits were and suggested a tour before the eleven o’clock tour, stating it is better than waiting here in the main area. She took me to me on a quick tour of several exhibits talking and moving through the maze of displays. We ended up in the bird exhibit, waiting for my friend to show. After my friend showed up we sat for a few minutes, since it was Sandy’s lunchtime so we sat.
When Sandy returned for lunch we began the tour of the gems, unfortunately she did not know or speak in technical terms of the gem or their origins, but she knew what she liked, appearing to read from the cue cards on the displays she also injected some personal experiences related to the gems and their expense.
