one step at a time
One Step at a Time – Jordin Sparks I’ve always thought that I should rush things. It’s like time is always running out. But as I rush myself into things, I always end up repeating what I started. I never get to finish because I do two things at the same time making it hard for me to focus. I believed that I should live as if it would be my last day on Earth. But would that be a good or bad thing for me? I guess I took that the wrong way. Everything in my life was rushed. I want to achieve my dreams faster, but for that, I should take one step at a time. I heard this song and I found out that this really suits me. “Take one step at a time, there’s no need to rush”. I realized that I still have time, don’t i? Making things happen would require hardwork. But of course if I do things one step at a time, I will surely finish things, probably not altogether but at least one at a time. “It’s gonna happen, it’s supposed to happen and you’ll find the reason why, one step at a time”. I know that if I focus my attention to one thing, I would accomplish it. After that, move on to the next box on you bucket list of things to be accomplished. “You know you can if you get the chance, but in your face the door keeps slamming”. Nobody’s perfect. I cannot do everything right at the first shot. That’s why I give things a second try. Failures, that are ever present, cannot hinder me from reaching what I want.

Perfect- Pink In life, not everyone likes the way you are. Some people see you as nothing. Treat you as nothing. I know and am fully aware that I am not perfect. Of course, who is? Tell me, I’ll get his autograph. Imperfection is not such a great deal still perfect is what we aim for, but being less than perfect doesn’t make you less than a person. We ourselves are great in our own ways. I used to think that I am nothing. But I am not. Some people made me feel that way before but now I won’t let them. I just can’t please everybody. That’s what difference is right? I

When coming up with goals, make sure to think of short and long term goals. Make a list for things that can be accomplished by the end of the day and a list of things for the week. Having a list of things that may take a little time is great but they need a deadline to require your urgency to the matter of completing them.…

Success doesn't come easily, but slowly, and as the result of many, many trials and years of perseverant efforts. It’s those who quit, like those who never try, that won’t make it through to success.…

I approach everything step by step....I had always set short-term goals. As I look back, each one of the steps or successes led to the next one. When I got cut from the varsity team as a sophomore in high school, I learned something. I knew I never wanted to feel that bad again....So I set a goal of becoming a starter on the varsity. That’s what I focused on all summer. When I worked on my game, that’s what I thought about. When it happened, I set another goal, a reasonable, manageable goal that I could realistically achieve if I worked hard enough....I guess I approached it with the end in mind. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, and I focused on getting there. As I reached those goals, they built on one another. I gained a little confidence every time I came through.…

When I was selecting on what to read, and I wanted to read something that I could relate to personally. I always feel as if there isn’t enough time to get things done, or if the task at hand is too complex I either put it off or find some way to get out of it. For example, finishing college right now is a big task for me, I graduated high school in 2007, and this is my 5th semester of college and probably only my 2nd semester completed. I’ve kept putting school off because I wasn’t motivated and I’d rather partied, drink, and hang out with friends. Things changed when I got married, and now I have children, and start to see things in a different perspective.…

If I was given the opportunity to speak in front of a crowd I would talk about the importance of setting goals in your life. I believe success comes from meeting the goals you have strived to obtain. When I was younger and just starting to grasp the concept of doing things on my own, the word success was very forbidding to me. I wanted to be successful and to make people around me proud, but I wasn’t sure how to go about achieving such things. I never just sat down and thought about what exactly I needed to do to make me successful, I just knew I wanted success out of life. If I had the chance to talk to a younger generation, or maybe even older people who are still struggling, I would tell them to take some time, sit down, and seriously think about what specific things they needed to do that would make them successful in life. The things they would write would ultimately become the small goals that would help them achieve their \\\\\\\larger goal. When you have goals set in your life, the only thing left to do is go get them done! Yes, I know this is the hard part, but when you actually have goals defined in your life, you wake up every morning knowing exactly what you’re working towards. You strive for specific opportunities or instances that someday make you successful. You go after your…

I completely agree with you and I see where you coming from for me the decision to increase your motivation is the key to the bringing a greater sense of it for yourself. Putting greater focus on the things that you want to achieve until you actually accomplish them can do this. The stronger your focus is on the goal, the greater the motivation will be. The truth of the matter is if you are unable to keep track of your goals, it can be generalized that you do not really desire to achieve it. Motivation can come naturally, and no amount of inspirational talk will set you to action if you really are not into taking the goal seriously.…

I am very competitive so I am not going to stop until I am satisfied with the outcome. One can find my level of determination in everything I do. Being determined is not always about completing something first or being the best at something. It is about making myself feel accomplished with the outcome. Whether it is in sports that I am competing in or making myself get up and go to a class. Every time that I get out of bed and drive to school, I am shaping myself into a stronger individual that will be more successful in the future. I make myself go to classes because I am thinking about my future. If I bite the bullet now and take on all the hard tasks that get in my way I can have a more enjoyable life later. I am basically following in the footsteps of my sister. She is training to become a physical therapist. Becoming a physical therapist is not an easy task. If it was easy, anyone would be able to do it. I am fortunate enough to see the things that she did not do that would have been beneficial to her. I am able to better myself so that when I am in the upper level education courses, I will not have to fret as much as she does. I can prepare myself for the worst by taking on the worst now rather than later. This can either be for the upper education that I will need to partake in the future or the career that I will need to establish later in life. Success in building a healthy family and a…

I began to wipe the tears from my cheeks and I realized that my mindset was fixed on failure. I convinced myself that anything that I set out to do was going to end in failure. I have to stop letting the fear of failure rule my life. It’s up to me to change what I don’t like about my life, no one can do it for me. I have control over my life. So, I decided at that moment I was going to make a change. I’m going back to school to finish what I started, no matter how long it takes. I have to accept that failure is a part of life; I have to be willing to fail to learn how to succeed.…

You are not always given a side walk to follow when you walk and that’s just life, meaning sometimes you have to find a new way to get back onto the path that will lead your life. Always by my side and never out of reach, with piles of homework stacked in front of me, I steadily declined the use of time I spent on my goal. I convinced myself it was because of the lack of time and all the work, but I was lying to myself. I lied to myself and I believed it, I distracted myself from what was important and in turn destroyed my chance of accomplishment...once again. One more week and I would have completed my goal, but I procrastinated and not only gave up on the project, but in myself. I believe the problem lies in my ability to stay positive and engaged for a difficult problem throughout a long period of time and how I decide to manage it. If I want to have the satisfaction of fulfilling something in my life, I have to be able to believe that I can do so, and that I have it in me to endure and persist. If I have this optimistic outlook on the opportunities and chances ahead of me, the belief I have in myself will intensify and I’ll complete more challenges and goals. To improve this ability, I intend on continuing this goal in the future and accomplishing it, and hopefully it will be the last time. This project opened my eyes to just how much of myself needs improvement, and with this experience in mind I hope to set a path for myself to build myself up to be the best I can…
