1. I believe the most important characteristic of a strong, female leader is respect. A female leader is nothing if the people around her do not respect her, and in order to gain respect you must first be respectful. You must not only care about your future, but also the future of those around you. Through life, the most rewarding thing is to not only see myself succeed, but also to see those around me succeed. I care about each and every person I come in contact with, and I truly believe I leave a lasting, positive impact on them. Before transferring to Texas A&M University sports were my life, and I was ultimately defined as a leader on every team I was involved in. The opportunities I have …show more content…
been awarded through being a leader on my volleyball teams are endless, but the most rewarding thing is that everyone still has so much respect for me, because through my success I have never lost the respect I had for them. I learned to be successful because I wanted to work hard for my teammates and not just for myself. My leadership roles through volleyball has helped me so much in developing as a strong, respectful woman by allowing me to learn to embody other important characteristics of a female leader such as compassion, courage, and perseverance.
2.
If I was given the opportunity to speak in front of a crowd I would talk about the importance of setting goals in your life. I believe success comes from meeting the goals you have strived to obtain. When I was younger and just starting to grasp the concept of doing things on my own, the word success was very forbidding to me. I wanted to be successful and to make people around me proud, but I wasn’t sure how to go about achieving such things. I never just sat down and thought about what exactly I needed to do to make me successful, I just knew I wanted success out of life. If I had the chance to talk to a younger generation, or maybe even older people who are still struggling, I would tell them to take some time, sit down, and seriously think about what specific things they needed to do that would make them successful in life. The things they would write would ultimately become the small goals that would help them achieve their \\\\\\\larger goal. When you have goals set in your life, the only thing left to do is go get them done! Yes, I know this is the hard part, but when you actually have goals defined in your life, you wake up every morning knowing exactly what you’re working towards. You strive for specific opportunities or instances that someday make you successful. You go after your
goals!
3. If I became a member of Aggie Belles, I would be given a great opportunity to make something greater of myself, and I would take full advantage of that opportunity! Through leadership, respect and responsibility to the everyday acts we complete, I plan on helping to create unforeseen possibilities for the Children’s Miracle Network and other organizations that the Aggie Belles will impact. I would love to be given the opportunity to do small things that will have a tremendous, ripple effect in this organization. I hope that striving for these goals will help others around me want to participate in selfless acts as well and that my work in the Aggie Belles will help expand those values and virtues to others. I want to leave my mark on the AggieBelles as a person who loved to help others without the expectation of rewards.
