Online Dating is No Longer Taboo Imagine this…..Its 2013; you are a busy but lonely adult trying to find love. You have tried the bar scene for months now and feel like it’s just a waste of time. Why not try online dating? In the past online dating was considered Taboo or unsafe but now that everything is done online it’s more convenient to talk to people through text or emails. There are dating sites out now for every type of person. Some you have to pay to be on and some are free to join. I am all for online dating because after my ex-husband left me I didn’t have the time or self anthem to go out and date. Plus I hadn’t had a date in over 10 years so I couldn’t even figure out where to start. Lucky for me I had two friends that met their husbands over a dating website called Plenty of Fish. They told me to make a profile and try it out, so I did. It took me six months and twelve guys later of online dating to find my true match. We are now married and have been together for two years.
Some pros of online dating are that online daters save time by meeting a lot of people in a shorter amount of time. The online process allows potential dates to be selected by specific information that the two daters put in before the first meeting occurs. When you fill out a profile you have to answer all kinds of questions that apply to your likes, dislikes and what you’re looking for in a mate. When you are done filling out your profile and answering the questioner the computer takes your information and compares it to other daters. Within twenty-four hours you will have a whole list of potential mates to sort through and talk to.
A second major benefit to online dating is that physical looks plays a less crucial role in the process of two people getting to know each other.
