This basically states that since this is and becoming a bigger problem, there should be more effective laws to help prevent this problem in our society, more effective laws mean less problems , and a greater chance to prevent this problem. The Pew internet and American Life project published a 2009 report that focused specifically on teens and distracted driving, they found that there were about 75% of people ages 12 to 17 years old own a cell phone, of the people who own a cell phone 34% admit to texting while driving additionally 48% of teens say they were a passenger in the car when driving was texting, amongst those people 40% felt that at some time cell phone uses compromised their safety or the safety of others, this basically support my claims that texting while driving is a problem and there should be more effective laws against it because its is impacting the lives of teens, young adults and adults. Texting while driving or general uses of the cellphone a large amount of percentage of car accidents on the road not only teens leads to 1.6 million crashes each year, this problem is getting so out of hand that 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the united states is caused by texting while driving and causes nearly 330,000 injuries each year, but yet there aren't any effective laws to counter this problem."( "Texting

According to many researches, surveys and people's statements , drivers don’t deny that texting while driving is major concern and every year it kills or injured thousands of people. There are counteracting claims that there should be more laws against texting while driving, stating that it’s a habit nor than a choice and also stated they can avoid being spotted by legal authorities by hiding their phones out of view, but from the survey provided by (Pew), "some people actually stated that they are careful when they do text while driving and take extra precautions such as only doing it at a red light and keeping their phones near the window so they can be able to see the road and avoid incoming cars".("Texting While Driving." In Secretary Ray LaHood statement he implied that we the law can't catch everybody who breaks the law, and that they are trusting you not to break the, most drivers whom uses their phones on the road are careful and responsible , but sometimes you can't control fate. While car manufacture industries have already
designed cars with built in Bluetooth phones in cars to use hands free, a good amount of people can't afford a new car or they don’t want to switch cars, and has to rely with the simple method
of using your phone in the car therefor placing theirs and others lives in danger.
