Q1: Do you think Laura is justified in her response to her organization culture? Why or why not?
Answer: Yes I think Laura is justified in her response to her organization. Laura explained very clearly how the managers act at the workplace. Emotions prevalent: anger, hated toward other people, other staff members and managers did not appreciate the work done by the employees. Therefore the response of Laura towards her organization was the result of the prevalent work environment at her workplace and the work attitudes of her employees. She is afraid of losing her job and has learned to go along with it in order to stay employed.
Q2: Do you think Laura’s strategic use and display of emotions serve to protect her?
Answer: I think yes that the strategies that Laura’s used and displayed serve to protect her, so the only way for Laura to survive her workplace is by using and displaying emotions that are not correct and not actually felt by her to survive in the organization. And the sentence that the managers always used “nobody’s indispensable” let the employees to hide their emotions and display other emotions that are not actually felt by them and by this sentence they are discourage them so that make them unproductive workplace.

Answer: In my opinion, if Laura’s description is accurate I would say that the organization culture is discourage, negative and disappointed. The managers use fear tactics that maybe in anytime the employees will be sacked, so that what make them unproductive employee. And if I was in Laura’s workplace I would definitely do my best to find a new workplace because in my opinion trying to hide the actual emotions are very difficult.
