Organizational Structure Paper:
The development of a large-scale information system involves some unique features that are particularly difficult to manage. It involves large project management teams; it is challenging to measure progress or quality short of completion; if not done right the first time, costs increase exponentially; it has historically been plagued with high turnover of personnel; and it requires careful stewardship of enormous organizational resources. This paper highlights organizational structures and presents a tri-dimensional view of the project management in IT environment typically found in major information systems initiatives.
A carefully designed organizational structure is essential for success in a competitive business climate. However, without a proper project management system that can establish companywide information dissemination, structure loses its full effectiveness. Organization structures evolve to adapt to changing business environments. Different organizations are ran different ways. Each one finds ways that are suitable to their different needs. An organizations structure can help or hurt their ability to achieve success. Some organizational structures can definitely impair the organization’s ability to deliver project success. So choosing the correct organization structure is imperative to the success of that particular organization.
The paper talk about current organization structure of my company and how project management approach provides improvement to company. My company is service provider for internet, voice and video.
