The most typical driver of change in any company is the external environment itself. Usually, this entails law changes, market changes, and unfortunate events such as accidents, business scandals, and market crashes. Based from my personal experience, the most effective means of communication is through holding regular meetings between the employees and the leaders. It is of vital importance that leaders attend the meetings, in order for the staff to know that the change effort is a serious one. A weekly meeting between the manager and his/ her staff would do to keep track of the progress of the change effort. Also, distribution of information sheets amongst the employees is a viable method of communication. In this way, the employees would not be misinformed with regards to the comprehensive details of the change effort.

In every transitional situation, one needs to be aware of the happenings surrounding one self. This is the key factor amongst successful managers. To be honest, I'm not as self-aware as I could be. This would be disastrous in most situations. Furthermore, I would push myself to become more engaged with people, seeing as how important managing influence is in such situations.
