Today I will be disscssing a very important topic for many people in this world and country. This problem is often looked past, when really there needs to be something done about it. This topic just happens to be poaching. Now poaching is not just a problem here in the U.S. but a worldwide problem.
Africa has the biggest poaching problem in the world due to the animals that live there because there body parts are worth alot of money. Ivory is a very high price and that is why the Rinoseaurus and Elephant are in such danger. Poaching can refer to the failure to comply with regulations for legal harvest, resulting in the illegal taking of wildlife that would otherwise be allowable. Now hunting is a way of putting food on the table and in some way many other things. Hunting is too keep the herd of animals under control so stuff does not overpopulate and create more problems. In Many parts of the world there are hunting regulations and these regulations and based on the herds or flocks of animals. These are also based on how many should be taken without hurting the population, but because people contiue to poach the animals are on a rapid increase to extinction. Today elephants are now considered endangered, there are about 450,000-700,000 African elephants and 35,000-40,000 Asian elephants. This problem must come to a hault as soon as possible. This world can not hadle this darastic decrease in animal populations. There are now people risking there lives everyday to hunt for poachers in Africa, there are organizations that are are out to help stop this problem also like the International Anti-Poaching Foundation. This is what they have to say,” Wildlife crime is sweeping the planet. The illegal trafficking of wildlife is now one of the world’s largest criminal industries, with repeated links to terrorism networks.
High Target Species such as elephant and rhino are being hunted to extinction. These animals are the most difficult to protect, as poachers go to the most extreme lengths to kill them. If we can safeguard these animals, then entire ecosystems are protected.
Anti-poaching rangers form the first and last line of defence for nature. Without the right training, equipment, management and support they cannot defend the World’s natural heritage for future
