You will find that people have a different preference than others; but the condition of the teeth is also important to consider when choosing braces. All braces cost money and each have their pros and cons. The hardest part is picking one that works the best. Traditional braces are the most prefered style for many reasons. They are the cheapest option the cost ranges from $3,000 to $7,000. (Kool)Also the patients can change the colors of the bands making it a fun part of having braces. The downfall of traditional metal braces are they are the most noticeable(Oralb). Another option in orthodontics is ceramic braces. Ceramic braces cost between $4,000 to $8,000(Kool). You are paying more for ceramic braces but you're also getting several advantages. People are less likely to know you have braces and they move faster than invisalign.(Oralb) The major complaint the patient that have ceramic braces experience is staining and discoloration of the brackets(Oralb). For patients that don't want to show they have braces lingual braces are the way to go. Lingual braces are similar to traditional braces, the only difference between them is the lingual braces are places on the lingual side of the teeth(towards the tongue).Cost is also a difference between lingual and traditional braces, lingual braces cost ranges from $8,000 to $10,000(Kool). Like any type of orthodontic treatment there are cons to it. Lingual braces are not for everyone some patients are not eligible for them(Oralb). Lingual braces are harder to clean, adjust and get used to because of where they are located on the teeth(Oral b). The last orthodontic therapy option is invisalign. Invisalign are clear plastic trays that are made for you and as your teeth move more trays are made to fit those changes(Oralb). The cost of this kind of orthodontic treatment falls into $4,000 to $8,000
