US officials intelligently used the three types of intelligence to track down and kill OBL. These three types of intelligence are called Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and Signal Intelligence (SIGINT). All three of these were pivotal in locating OBL. Personally speaking in current society, the use of intelligence is absolutely required in order to find wanted suspects. The killing of Osama Bin Laden would not have been possible without the thorough and sophisticated use of US intelligence agencies. In order to fully understand the true significance of the death of Osama Bin Laden, one must understand who he was and what he did. Osama Bin Laden was born in 1957 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Geospatial Intelligence is using materials like drones, and aircrafts to analyze geographical locations. This can be anything like buildings, compounds, cities, or anything that can be visible from a vantage point. GEOINT was able to scope out a lot of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and used obvious information to pick a spot and investigate: “NGA was integral in helping the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community pinpoint the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan, where bin Laden was residing”(NGA). According to the NGA (National Geospatial Agency), US officials were capable of using aircraft drones to gain intelligence about the compound Osama Bin Laden was hiding in: “Providing to the CIA and other policymakers assessments of the number of people who lived inside the compound, their heights and genders”(Ambinder). The NGA was able to capture evidence through GEOINT, giving US Officials ample evidence to invade the compound. They were able to find multiple people walking through and out of the compound. The NGA was able to identify a man who was became known as “The Pacer”. This agency was able to collect necessary intel on the way the building was set up by building a model, the NAVY Seals would use to train. The model was able to prepare the Seals for every possible predicament that they could be put in. This proved to be effective due to how short the actual invasion
