I, Michael Cassio speaking from my experience and fighting alongside Othello for several years has exposed me to his unique personality, exceptional skills and his ability to make important decisions in stressful times whilst remaining calm. Othello had a large effect on people in his presence; any shift in his stance could change the atmosphere of a room. Even with his negativity association of his color of skin, he did not curse himself instead he wore it proudly. Aspects such as his scars, his exotic heritage were all evidence that he was from a different world than his love Desdemona, but he didn't allow it to limit him.
Othello was not just my officer and mentor, but rather a dear friend and somebody I had real respect for. Whenever I felt discontentment, he always managed to reassure me and anchored me back into place.
