Jealousy and manipulation are one of the main concerns that caused the downfall of Othello. Reference to othello being the Moor depicts that he is already an outsider in venetian society through the simile “like a base indian, threw a pearl away” we understand that Othello believes that he he has been foolish and took his loving wife for granted.
