Our America Movie Analysis

There are many differences and similarities in the book and movie Our America. The book and the movie Our America is a story about two best friends, both teenagers named LeAlan and Lloyd. They went throughout their neighborhood recording everything that happens in their daily life and what happens in their neighborhood on a daily basis. The reason it is called Our America is because they want to show the readers “their America” in the ghetto. I think that the book and the movie version of Our America have more differences than similarities.

I believe that the book and the movie version of Our America have more differences than similarities because there were a lot of things that were different. In the book and the movie, LeAlan and Lloyd both described the building Eric got dropped out of the same. Both said that the elevator was out of order. They both said that the apartment stinks and it was really disgusting and dirty. LeAlan said that you can walk right through and no one would come and stop you and no one was there to greet you. You could just walk right through and nobody would say anything to you about it. I think the director decided to keep the apartment looking nasty because the director probably wanted the viewer to see how disgusting and how nasty the place was and how much people don’t care about their environment.

In conclusion, there are more differences than similarities. One of the major differences in the movie was the story of how Eric Morse got dropped out of the 14th floor of an apartment building. Another major difference in the movie was how much David Issay appeared in the movie more so than the book. David Issay appeared more in the movie than the book.
