Our Crazy World - Technology, Iraq and Hiv/AIDS
Our world today is a crazy one, in many ways. It is so different to what it used to be. The advancement of technology, coupled with such things as HIV/AIDS or terrorism and America's retaliation (and the Iraq War), combines to form a mind boggling, and somewhat depressing environment for one to live in.

With DVD's and DVD players, Playstations 1s and 2's, and even 'old fashioned' things such as videos, cd's, and computers, technology easily confuses the innocent bystander.

Then there is the bad side of technology (although some would argue that computers and DVD's are the bad side): chemical warfare, weapons of mass destruction and so on. Why do people create such things? I suppose the answer is greed. As a perfect example we have Saddam Hussein. He kills and suppresses his own people presumably because of greed) and then openly 'defies' America (I say sarcastically).

Then on the other hand there's Bush. He's not exactly evil (or is he?), but he is greedy and moronic. He announces that America is 'gonna' kill Saddam and free the Iraqi people, meanwhile he's thinking that he has Iraq and it's resources, and is one step closer to global domination. There are rumours of his belonging to the Illuminati, a secret organisation which 'controls our thinking' and is aiming to take over the world.

So, who does one support in the Iraq situation? Which incoherent miser? My answer to that is rather than side with anyone, one can either totally ignore it, or decide to side with peace.

The wonderful thing is that, being neither an Iraqi nor an American (I am in fact South African), I am able to express my distaste for these two particular people without being shot, as Iraqis would have during the war, or possibly outcast as an American.

However, Americans would have no reason to ostracize me unless they actually like and support Bush, for I don't dislike Americans, I dislike greedy and lying people who exploit a situation to their own good.

Just look at the situation: big

Throughout the years of fighting in Iraq, we have realized that we are there or no reason, and many people think we are stuck. In the beginning war I what we wanted and what we have started. Freedom is what a lot of Americans take for granted, and now they find less then what they really want. The war in Iraq was to bring freedom out to others and to give them the safety like us in America. I cannot say if that was the right thing to do or the smartest, but now that does not matter because we’ve lead ourselves into a big ditch and its now time to let someone new figure it out. Although in this I will discuss, how their culture is over there, how it should have never affected us, and how leavening would have affected our America.…

The world is a lot smaller than it used to be. Today I can hop on a plane, and be in China tomorrow. I can call a friend in Africa and talk in real time. The world we live in is vastly different than the world our great grandparents grew up in. Advancement in technology is a tale as old as time. But this change has come about extremely quickly. However, there is a reason. The Cold War triggered an explosion of growth and interconnectivity. And it came close to triggering several other literal explosions.…

Adolf Hitler is another example of how man is evil. For example in Hitler's early stages “Hitler engineered the passage of the enabling act, which gave his cabinet full legislative powers for a period of four years.”(biography.com) With this quote it is seen hitler had used his position of power so his followers can gain entry to aid him in his evil acts to attack the jews and cause terror. Hitler then had, “Military opposition was punished Adolfs political enemies were rounded up and shot.” (biography.com). With this quote it is seen hitler once again used his power to cause more evil terror to kill his enemies just because they did not side with him this is another point on how man is evil just because someone disagreed with him…

Immediately, we perceive the Iraqis to be our enemies, while we, the United States, are the righteous, the defenders of freedom, who have an obligation to expel the aggressors from innocent Kuwait, because we are a dominant force in the world. However, there are also people who believe that Saddam Hussein is on a crusade to unite all of the Arab countries , just as Bismarck did in Germany in the late 1800s. Rather than a sort of Hitler, some compare Hussein to Bismarck, who, although using ruthless tactics, united Germany and is today considered hero.…

The first reason as to why I think people are evil is the Soviet Union's former leader and dictator, Joseph Stalin. Joseph Stalin ruled Soviet Russia during the World War II era. He was born December 18th, 1878, and died on March 5th, 1953. When Stalin was a young child he had gotten into an accident with a horse drawn carriage that made his arm shorter and stiffer. Later on he was rejected to join the Soviet army because of this injury, thus igniting his first interests to start rebelling against the government. In his rebellious times he was imprisoned eight times, and was considered an outlaw to the Russians and had been exiled for a time. When he got out of exile he managed to gain the trust of Lenin. While others didn’t believe his allegiance…

Someone’s evil could be easily identified by his/her malevolent intentions and acts of cruelty toward others people. Villains, well known as dictators, usually tend to have all these characteristics. Through the history there are many examples of dictators as the government of Adolf Hitler, who totally wanted to eliminate all people who did not meet the physical qualities that he had resigned. Especially he wanted to remove Jews people from German Civil Society. Hitler expressed evil through his deeds and hatred towards other races. Some have tried to justify his way of thinking and even some of the things he did. However, Hitler’s malevolent acts went beyond any other cruelty that ever existed on earth. From all the bad things he committed there are three acts that classified him as a villain. Among them are human torture practices, about 17 million murders and the…

During the height of WWII with the US I was still only a kid and therefore never got the opportunity to be drafted in the war, however, I learned a lot of things about the war and the Americans in school. I grew up learning how evil the Americans were and how they would torture our soldiers and kill them mercilessly, never taking in prisoners. Even in papers I would see them represented as Onis or read about how imperialistic and impure they are. What I was confused me as a kid was why we said bad things about them when it always seems like we secretly admire them. It seems like we just steal their ideas and convert it into ours. I understood that we, Japanese people are the purest out of every race and that the Americans are corrupt, yet why…

“Evil” – defined by Dictionary.com as “morally wrong or bad; immoral; harmful; characterized by misfortune or suffering” (“Evil”) – is a very complicated topic few people can fully agree on. The view on whether people are born evil or are raised to be evil is highly subjective. What some people consider to be evil, others might believe to be valiant. Although researchers have been exploring many different viewpoints to find the correct answer to this controversy, their results insinuate that evil is found in the eye of the beholder. However, with some of the world’s greatest reprobates nominated for Nobel Peace Prizes and others been given the key to a city, it can be derived that a person develops evil impulses…

My perspective on the modern era is that it is full of tragedy and crime. It may just be that since technology is continuing to advance, and we are seeing more of it, but it appears as though there is more crime than there was in the past. School shootings as well as just shootings in general are becoming more prevalent as are the amount of gang members and criminals. Not only speaking of criminals, but the modern era is full of those who are harming themselves. Whether it be from not eating, eating too much, causing oneself to throw up, or even other physical harm as hitting, cutting and burning. Again, it could be the technology advances that are just causing it to be shown more.…

Everyone is evil. No matter what, people will have evil in them. But on the contrary, everyone has good in them. I don’t care if someone is a serial killer, they have something good and bright in them. Now the amounts of either of those may be different in every person, but they are inside everybody. Good vs Evil. It is everywhere. They are obviously different, but they’re also the same. Good vs Evil is all around us. Sports and movies are some examples. There is a good side and a bad side, every single time. There is good in Jack for example, a basically evil character. There is evil in Ralph, the poster boy of a leader. But it works the other way around too, good and evil are inside every human being. But evil changes much more over time,…

Times are much different than they used to be, however, the world seems to be reacting to these problems the same way they did years ago. Most days, the general public seems to be preoccupied with ‘the war on terror.' There is so much going on in this world, and yet it is all being categorized as one big issue. This is very similar to some events in the past, more specifically, The Great Depression.…
