17th January 2012, a bond is forged, a new relationship is built, between a Malaysian Chinese and a demure Swiss girl named Manon Bigler . I remember the first day we acknowledge each other as family as if it were just yesterday. How time flies ! I couldn’t believe it is just 3 more months to go that she’ll be going back , and writing this review reminds me of how little time we left , not long now till the separation.
This is the first time I’m hosting an AFS exchange student and it’s totally a blissful experience . Having such awesome foreign sister is something I’d never thought of. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Manon is a successful student and sister. She’s active in school , especially curricular activities such as participating in St. John Ambulance , sports , school activities and camps , workshops and many more.Because of her well-being behavior and friendly personality , she got most of the compliments from school , as well as people around her. As she had outstanding features with sparkling eyes , fair complexion , narrow nose and a cascading curly ginger hair , she became the centre of attraction wherever she goes .Thus ,her circle of friends is expanding all the time. She’s really fast in catching up and get used to the Malaysia lifestyle , she even speaks Malaysian English unknowingly.
Having her as a new family member is my family’s pleasure . She’s playing her part very well as a daughter and a sister at home. When need arises , we’ll correct her mistakes for her own good. And there she goes , learn and improve to be better. She helps with the house chores and is independent on her own so we have no worries about her. Days by days , our sistership is developing and our bond is strengthen. We live and enjoy like there’s no tomorrow , laugh like it’s our last breath and love each other like we’ve never loved before. We always fool around and do lame things like every teens do. We have so much in common ,
