Once a man in his words said that background of education is that education is not a key to success as success is not guaranteed but the education itself is a life. When we meet learners daily going to school we know as a fact that they are forced by the law of the country and the decision of their parents for better wealth fare. We know that this learners are driven by passion they have seen education does. Almost all schools are now structured in the same way, and it is because of the troubles and sweat the parents, community, leaders, goes extra mile to provide the best of schools and education. In South Africa the citizens are have the right to basic education. Which includes the adult learning and access to higher education. Outcomes-based Education (OBE) was introduced and was controversial from the outset for educators and policymakers alike. The reason given for the implementation of OBE was to move away from the apartheid curriculum and to address skills, knowledge and values. However, there were various shortcomings and many implementation problems that had to be addressed. …show more content…
The reflection of learners or their concepts are shuttered out. Students are not engaged in a dialogue which is best for as the class is in contact session and discussion will lead to more engagement. The educator introduces the concept or the theme and learners are expected to immerse themselves in the materials, ask questions, and seek answers. I worry about the expectations made by Freire and it seems that everything he says it is against the banking method. Not every teacher is going to make the effort every day to make the classroom an intellectual, stimulating environment where the teacher is going to make the critical thinking and build relationship with the

    Freire describes the “banking” concept of education by saying that “Education thus becomes an act of depositing, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor.     Last week, I read an article called the banking concept of education which is written by Paulo Freire, a Brazilian author who contributed to the world greatly as an educator and influenced the field of education. What is banking concept? The banking concept is an example to describe a method that students are regarded as a container and to be filled with different kinds of information and knowledge by teachers. What the students can do is just accept the things that they learned and memorize it. Freire demonstrates that the students are regarded as a bank and teachers “deposit” the knowledge into them. The biggest problem of the banking concept of education is that the students will never think carefully and they will lose their creativity and imagination without their critical thinking.     My own experience as a student has allowed me to develop multiple opinions about Freire’s concerns on conventional learning and his innovative idea of problem solving education. I believe that my reaction and opinion’s to Freire’s essay is moderate, I believe that if a student is only exposed to traditional learning then yes he or she will be crippled. However, in my experience as a student, I believe there are occasions where an environment of a teacher teaching and students listening totally appropriate. There needs to be a balance between nontraditional learning and traditional learning. Freire’s banking concept is an occurring event in today’s education but I wouldn’t necessarily go as far as diagnosing that it’s the problem that the education system needs to get rid of.
