Rainsford washes up on the shore of General Zaroff’s island. He meets Zaroff and finds out that he has been hunting humans for sport. When Rainsford refuses to hunt with Zaroff, he turns against him. Now Rainsford is the one who is being hunted. This story is trying to point out that life is made of the weak and strong and in the end, you become as dangerous as the thing you once feared.
First off, Whitney and Rainsford speak about the idea of weak and strong in terms of hunting animals. Rainsford says that animals have no feelings, but Whitney disagrees.
