Thesis Statement for the short story “The Lottery” The title of the story suggests a positive outcome. But upon reading the first couple of paragraphs, we see that a different plot is coming together.

The Rocking Horse Winner As little boy overwhelmed with the financial situation within his family, turns to his rocking horse to get the winners of the horse races in the local town for luck.
