The Very Best Honey - bun Cake
Are you looking for a stomach filling, heart warming, and show stopping dessert to bring to any family or social event? Well, you’ve found it! During this process a person will receive a great understanding of what it takes to make the best honey - bun cake in the world. This cake will be so delicious and moist; it will literally melt in your mouth. Anyone following this process will receive all the information that they will need to know the exact amount of each ingredient to include in their creation. These directions will even include the specific temperature and the amount of cooking time needed.
To begin this process, she will need to gather all of her ingredients and cooking tools. As for the cooking utensils needed, she will need to gather a large and small mixing bowl, an electric mixer, a cake spatula, and a buttered 8 x 8 cake pan. Then to start with the ingredients you will need two and one half cups of all purpose flour that you will need to sift later. Also she will need one teaspoon of baking powder and one cup of sugar that is to be sifted with the flour into the large mixing bowl. She will also need one cup of milk, one egg, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract and one and one half tablespoon of unsalted butter. You may also use one 8 oz. bag of crushed walnuts or crushed pecans as well as raisons.
To begin with, sift the two and one half cups of flour, the one teaspoon of baking powder, and the cup of sugar together into the large mixing bowl. Once that is done, combine the milk and egg together in the small bowl then make a well like shape in the dry mixture. After doing so pour the egg and milk mixture into the flour mixture. Once you get that mixture to a uniform consistency add, the 1 and 1/2 melted butter to the mixture and mix until smooth. Now, slowly mix in one teaspoon of vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
She will need to gather two other small bowls if you decide to use any type of nuts or raisons and to mix your filling mixture in. To make the filling mixture, you will need one packed cup of light brown sugar and two tablespoons of cinnamon. Combine both in one of the small bowls and set aside for later use. In the other small bowl, add one quarter cup of flour to dredge the nuts and raisins in. Pour one half of the cake mixture into your buttered cake pan, then sprinkle the entire top with the sugar and cinnamon mixture followed by the raisins and nuts. Then cover, with the other half of the cake mixture.
There are many consequences that can take place if all the prearranged items are not used.
Some of those distinctive outcomes are; the cake may not rise properly, the cake may not be sweet enough, or the cake may taste slightly bitter. There can also be some over or under cooking of the cake. Each ingredient is vital to creating the best cake possible. Without all of them, the cake may not turn out right and you will end up asking yourself, what went wrong. The key is to make sure that you have all the items listed above and use the exact amount of each one.
To start after adding the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients you will be able to tell whether or not you mixture is spot on. For if you used to much flour it will bring everything to a dough like substance. Wherein, if you did not use enough flour or too much liquid the cake batter will be more of a loose soup like consistency. Stir all the ingredients together very well, and make sure that you have not left out any steps.
During you final mixing process, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). This is a very crucial step for if your oven is not properly heated it will defiantly affect the outcome of your cake. Once the temperature of the oven has reached the specified amount, place the cake pan on the middle rack of the oven and bake the mixture for thirty- five minutes. Every oven is different, so the cooking time may
vary.
To test to see if the bread has baked completely, stick a toothpick in the center, and if it comes out with no raw dough, then the cake is ready. If the toothpick comes out with any signs of raw cake batter, continue the baking process and check on it every so often. Once the cake is done, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for forty five minutes to an hour. Once the cooling process is complete, then it will be time to ice the cake. During the cooling off process you should combine two cups of confectioner’s sugar, four tablespoons of milk and one teaspoon of vanilla in a small mixing bowl. Use a fork to combine the mixture properly so that there are no lumps left from the confectioner’s sugar. If the cake is iced before it has completely cooled off, the icing will soak completely into the cake not given you the slightly hard exterior that you want and when sliced the cake will may fall apart in your hands.
If all the listed steps have been followed, you will have created a perfect honey – bun cake that looks just as good as it taste if not better. By following these steps you will have mastered the slightly long but enjoyable process of creating a southern honey - bun cake from scratch. I can pretty much guarantee that this cake will be the talk of the town and / or any occasion you may choose to present it at. Once again, make sure to follow all prearranged steps, and include all of the listed ingredients to ensure that you will see the very best end results.
