As his dog Pablo slowly gets older and passes away, Fernand gets older as well. Today he is 78, he spent most of his life recovering from the bullet wounds the Nazis gave him. After his return he goes back inside to and drink the last bit of his coffee. He sits on the couch resting by the fireplace as he slowly drifts of into sleep.
