Dharavi suffers from a low quality of life and is unable to meet many of its citizens needs. The area lacks privacy as well as sanitation and houses are usually composed of mud and logs. Many factors cause this low quality of life, but the main cause is found in history. The area of Dharavi started off lacking lots of proper materials to achieve some indicators, such as education (schools). Because of this, natural resources couldn’t be properly handled properly (lack of human resources). Like many developing countries, the population growth rate was high; this caused many epidemics, due to the lack of sanitation. That disease stricken, weak population was the start of Dharavi. The population is highly educated and affluent. Everyone in Palo Alto has access to clean water, but not normal water; the water in Palo Alto is so clean that it is exempt from having to be filtered. Schools are good in the area and the quality of life is almost twice the national average. Crime rates are low and luxury is high. Palo Altans state that they are deeply satisfied with life in Palo Alto, 92% saying that life is good or excellent. Palo Alto’s luxury stems from the companies that are based there. Google, Facebook, Pinterest and many other companies started their journey in Palo Alto and have grown to become tech giants. The company's’ economic activity and economic boost are what have helped Palo Alto reach this level.
