Spark Innovation through Empathic Design
Analyzing the empathic design strategy I have learned that remarkable things happen when organizations practice empathy for their consumers when their solving problems especially in this decade where diversity is essential. Design empathy is an approach that allows organizations to tab into people’s real life experiences in order to solve modern challenges.in allowing the inspiration from their consumers, organization have a higher capacity for creativity and innovation.
The most fascinating thing that I learned is that I always felt companies knew what they were doing and new their consumer behavior well, however the article shows that intuition is never enough. The most successful companies are usually created from feeding of their consumers’ feelings. Using spark article as an example, companies are able to learn how users interact with their product directly, such as if they can easily open the product or if the consumer is confused at any point in time. Thus observation of users and products in their environments is key to finding areas where new or improved products are necessary.
Reading the article what come to mind was these successful companies such as apple and Samsung, reflecting I realized that Steve Jobs was a fanatic apple user. Using my assumption, I can guarantee that most people that work in Samsung use either Samsung phones or appliances. With this strategy they already know the consumers’ needs because they are consumers themselves. This is an excellent way to gain empathic understanding is for organizations to through themselves in their consumers’ environment.
In short Empathetic understanding is an essential tool in innovation advancement and creativity. When you are able to comprehend people better then you understand who you are creating and designing for and what you are designing. This will enable us to make better decisions.
