Pantea Arteshbod Essay

Pantea Arteshbod, a wife, a fighter, and one of the greatest commanders of Persian’s “Immortal” Army. Living her life during approximately 570-525 BCE, she was known as a kind and sensitive ruler. Pantea is known to be a very attractive and caring person. So attractive, they say she had to wear a warriors’ mask to cover her beauty. Other readings suggest it was to protect their faces from dirt and other harmful things. She was married to General Aryasb and they shared duties ruling their military basis. Pantea was more sensitive and understanding and as battles pursued, she was able to keep level head and think with her heart, rather than her mind which helped have a successful army.
The army they ruled was known as “The Immortals”. The reason
Since Pantea was one of the most successful women rulers and Irdabama was a successful business woman, it proves and shows that it is possible to do it. Reading about different women in during this time and seeing how successful women were, makes me believe that time is repeating itself. Today, women are known to be “bread-winners”, maintain the household, and even have a lot of the roles that men once had. Interestingly enough, men have started to depend on women more to provide and even though it is still not a complete balance, women are starting to become a more substantial role. Seeing Hillary Clinton run for president was and is proof of this theory. A woman has never been president, nor has she been given the opportunity to consider being president. Although some of her campaign did become a bit shallow, as did her opponent, I do believe that she proved that she could be just as good as the men in the country who believe they could fill the role as well. After reading the results and seeing she won the popular vote, makes me believe that eventually we will have a woman president, and as stated before, time will repeat itself. I have enjoyed reading and it makes me want to work hard like the women during this time
