Throughout The Odyssey, the audience views Odysseus in many ways, one way as a mighty hero. Greek culture strictly defines a hero while modern culture possesses a looser definition of a hero. Joseph Campbell defines a hero as, "someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself... The hero performs a courageous act in battle and saves lives." Through the lens of a Greek, Odysseus mirrors the picture of heroism. However, twenty first century humans consider Odysseus a famed adventurer. While many different people label Odysseus in different degrees of heroism, the readers find themselves both agreeing and disagreeing with Campbell's statement defining Odysseus as a hero, each individual reader must formulate their own personal opinion on how they view Odysseus, agreeing, disagreeing, or a little bit of both.…

For my fourth concert report I attended the University of Florida Flute Ensemble Concert, on Tuesday April 16th, 2013 at 7:30pm in the Music Building Room 101. There were four main flutists and one composer but later in the concert during the last two works the whole flute studio was included. The four main flute students were Amy Adams, Margaret Chou, Kelsey Greene and Andy Huang. I have attended another concert in this room but was surprised to see about double the number of people since the last concert and was excited to see the show. The auditorium was small but I enjoyed that because it was quaint and made me feel more comfortable because there was not that many people there and it was more of an intimate setting. Admission to the ensemble was free which was a benefit to the people in attendance so they could enjoy of little bit of music for no cost.…

Professionalism can be defined and perceived in many different ways especially when discussing professionalism within different careers. I believe that professionalism in nursing is the demonstration of proper communication, knowledge, and skill while supporting a team working atmosphere. Proper communication is not only being able to discuss treatment and issues with a patient in a mature manner, but also being able to work with a team of staff members in order to achieve a professional work environment. Communication is vastly important among healthcare workers because miscommunication or poor communication skills could harm a patient physically or mentally. According to The Journal of Trauma Nursing, “Seventy percent of preventable medical errors are a result of poor communication between providers, and more than half of all deaths in the US malpractice lawsuits are attributed to poor teamwork”…

While the word `professionalism' usually refers simply to the quality of being professional, in truth it does not describe a single quality, but rather encompasses many different attributes that together define what a professional is. Throughout my experiences in various physical therapy settings, I was fortunate enough to observe therapists who have not only served as my role models, but have also taught me what professionalism really means. Not only excelling in their duties as physical therapists, every person I've been lucky enough to work with has been kind, accountable, and extremely committed, all of which are traits I have tried to emulate in my work as a volunteer and physical therapy technician. While I observed various displays of professionalism in different physical therapy…

Music has always been a part of human culture and is truly significant to our being. It is a universal language that forms bridges between different cultures through which a spoken language cannot provide. Who better, in the 1960s, was able to universally speak to the world through a unique sound of music than The Beatles? The Beatles were different. Unique.
