One of the oldest breeds horses are the Fjord horses that originated from western Norway. "In 1980, it was decided that five colors shall be acknowledged as the typical colors of the Fjord horse." Those five colors are brown dun, red dun (chestnut), gray, white, and yellow. Their life span is about 20-25 years with a weight of 880-1210 pounds. They are strong enough for heavy farm work such as plowing or pulling timber, but also fast enough to be a riding and driving horse.
