Hair spray (or hair lacquer) is a common household aqueous solution that is used to keep hair stiff or in a certain style. Weaker than hair gel, hair wax, or glue, it is sprayed to hold styles for a short period of time. Using a pump or aerosol spray nozzle it sprays evenly over the hair. Hairspray was first developed and manufactured in 1948 by Chase Products Company, based in Broadview, Illinois. Its active ingredient is a suitable polymer or the chemical elastesse. Elastesse is a form of liquid elastic that keeps the hair stiff and firm without snapping. Pytocalcious, an ingredient in hair spray, lowers the amount of minerals in the hair's root causing the hair to become stiff, or polyvinylpyrrolidone. Excessive use or lack of washing after hair spray may lead to dull or damaged hair. Some hair sprays are scented or have color. Hair spray is an easy way to hold hair styles for a short period of time. Hairsprays belong to a class of personal care products that help hair to hold a desired style. These products contain film forming ingredients that are applied as a fine mist. When dry, these chemicals form tiny glue-like spots that hold the hair shafts together. Hairsprays are formulated as aerosols that are powered by pressurized gasses or non-aerosols that are dispensed by manually depressing a pump.Hair spray is extremely flammable, more so before it is dry. The result of ignition is moderate to serious burns to the hair and upper torso, sometimes resulting in death.…

    Hair Spray In The 1950s

After the end of World War II (1939–45), many people considered the 1950s to be the beginning of a modern world, full of new products that would make their lives easier. The bright, the shiny, and the new were valued above all, and fashions reflected this. Hair spray, made of liquid plastics and vinyl that harden when they are sprayed on the hair to form a kind of shell that keeps the hair from falling out of its style, became very popular during the 1950s and early 1960s. Styles were crisp and clean, and hairstyles were held in place with aerosol hair spray. Aerosol sprays, substances dispensed from a pressurized can, had been developed for use with insecticides during World War II, and they were quickly adopted by the hair-care…

This experiment was conducted in order to use a parachute to reduce the collision force by decreasing the acceleration of which the water balloon is traveling causing it not to burst. When the balloon was dropped without a parachute the force of gravity was pulling it towards the ground therefore causing it to accelerating at such a fast rate that when it hit the ground the amount of force it hit the ground with was so great that the balloon popped. However when the balloon was dropped with a parachute, after deploying, it would provide wind resistance and therefore cause the balloon to decelerate causing it to move at a lower velocity causing it to hit the ground with a much lower force therefore causing it to supposably not pop. When discussing physics and parachutes Newtons three laws of motion must be considered. Newton’s first law of motion states, every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. Newton’s second law of motion states, the relationship between an object's mass (m), its acceleration (a), and the applied force (F) is F = ma. Newton’s third and final law of motion states, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Before the experiment was conducted it was predicted that if a parachute that was round in shape was made the balloon would not pop as round shaped parachutes provide a lot of air resistance therefore causing the balloon to travel at a low velocity causing it to hit the ground with little force therefore the balloon would not pop. It was also predicted that if the parachute was made too close to the balloon the balloon would pop as there would not be enough air resistance to keep the balloon traveling at a slow enough velocity to keep it from popping.…

The air pushes the parachute back up, and creates a force opposite to the force of gravity, slowing the skydiver down.”…

The ingredients should be inspected before a purchase. Certain ingredients could impact how it helps to nourish the hair, and provide a considerate amount of moisture to the hair. Although women can have diverse hair textures such as coarse, tightly coiled, or wavy hair not every type needs the same amount of moisture. Too much can lead to frizziness and weigh the hair down. Although my hair type was coarser, grease or gel was an enemy to my hair type. Grease, also known as mineral oil, or petrolatum will only clog the hair follicles causing flakiness, and dry hair. It does not moisturize, but acts as a sealant to seal in moisture. This is an ingredient that should be avoided in moisturizing products, it will attract lint, and dirt to the hair, and will only cause dryness. Mineral oil is the ingredient I always check for in a product, if it is listed as the first ingredient than this will not help the…
