Dear friend,
I want to tell you about the troubles my women are facing here in the camp of the Japanese. As I am writing this letter to you my friend, you may not believe me, but it is a risk of losing my life if the men knew about this, very dangerous act on my behalf, I may face tremendous consequences.
All of us are treated like slave labour for the men, we grow their food crops in the blazing hot sun, we work until we drop dead. If we did not obey as they commanded they would beat and push us like animals till we worked again. If we refused once again we could face further punishment , death. Yes, not to mention, some of our women had unfortunately contracted malaria, yes not very pleasant, unfortunately I have lost my dear friend, I just can’t stop crying, she just went away from me
