Paradise Road Letter
Written Explanation:
'I chose to write in a creative style, employing conventions of format and style of a traditional letter. This allows me to express my ideas in a logical order while adopting a sophisticated tone.' 'I have chosen formal language in an attempt to demonstrate a comprehensive and thoughtful piece. Inclusive words such as 'we' and 'us' have been incorporated to allow me to connect with the audience. Furthermore, my use of first-person perspective aims to add credibility to my argument.' 'My piece is to be published in an anthology for VCE students familiar with the subject matter and texts. As they have familiarity with the concepts I discuss, I intend for readers to depart with a greater understanding and appreciation of the ideas in my written piece.' 'The purpose of this essay is to demonstrate that one conflict always contains the seed of another: firstly, that conflict can begin from small and eventually lead to bigger things and secondly conflict can become a huge burden when it tops up.' 'In this essay, I explored the idea that 'One Conflict always contains the seed of another ‘.

Dear friend,
I want to tell you about the troubles my women are facing here in the camp of the Japanese. As I am writing this letter to you my friend, you may not believe me, but it is a risk of losing my life if the men knew about this, very dangerous act on my behalf, I may face tremendous consequences.
All of us are treated like slave labour for the men, we grow their food crops in the blazing hot sun, we work until we drop dead. If we did not obey as they commanded they would beat and push us like animals till we worked again. If we refused once again we could face further punishment , death. Yes, not to mention, some of our women had unfortunately contracted malaria, yes not very pleasant, unfortunately I have lost my dear friend, I just can’t stop crying, she just went away from me

We all had very similar opinions and views on the subject “how do place and cultural collision influence conflict?”. We had to come up with one thesis statement all together and we narrowed it down to the fact that humans competitiveness and urges to feel superior is what causes almost every conflict. We went over the ideas that humans always wanted more land, didn’t like to be controlled, and didn’t like giving in. We decided that all of these ideas were related to people not wanting to feel inferior, and conflict was always caused by everyone wanting to be the best, have the most, or be in control. The natural competitiveness in humans is the problem behind almost every disagreement or conflict. Together we came to an agreement on a new thesis- Place and cultural collision is inevitable because of natural human competitiveness. In the end, I felt much more confident in this thesis than my original one and I felt that it better represented the original topic and…

In my study of the Context ‘Encountering Conflict,’ I have come to appreciate the complexity of the causes and responses to disagreements throughout history. I wish to write creatively in this piece to capture the unique reactions humanity has to that which is threatening; an unpredictability in response that perhaps could not be done justice in an expository form. I have written my creative/persuasive speech for an audience of educated scholars at a TED conference. A logical and measured tone will allow for the content of the speech to relate intimately with how my audience members understand their world of work. Moreover, the use of visual imagery in the piece will reach out to the more imaginative and adventurous nature often ingrained in…

Conflict is a recurrent phenomenon in the workplace, its impact can have reverse effects and push people to either surpass themselves, or the contrary deteriorate. When you have individuals coming from all different backgrounds and beliefs merging together in the workplace, conflict is inevitable. There are the work-specific problems related to promotions, salary disparity, lack of recognition for achievement, or shared responsibility among a team. There are also more general issues with personal space and privacy; and then there are plain old personality conflicts.” In this reflective, observational and theory piece of essay, I will explore the topic of ‘Conflict’, as it is relevant to the organization in which I am working. I will include observations drawn from a fellow student’s workplace, and reflections on the process of undertaking the project. Also integrating the different aspects of my learning by adding relevant psychodynamic theory, to try and clarify my reflections and to make sense of this piece of work. Naturally, I will disguise the names of individuals and organizations for the purpose of confidentiality. Let me also add a little note to declare that English is not my first language.…
