People of the society Showing how the government portrays books and the lives of people who read books as bad, yet their lives are still better than the ones lives by the people in the society. Pathos Gadarene Swine Fallacy & Slippery Slope Fallacy

Analytic Paragraph Explaining Meme: This meme shows two major messages throughout how the major use of technology as well as the deprivation of thinking, learning, books, and nature greatly affect a person negatively.
The main goal of this meme is to try to make the people of society aware of what's causing their pain and internal suffering; technology, as well as what can help them; nature and thinking. Mildred is a perfect example of the people who live

“Fool, Montag, fool, fool, oh you silly fool…” (98). Eventually, many overdosed on their pills, and it happened so much that it was treated as a normal occurrence. They didn't know what to do about their consistent negative feelings, and because of that, they were a genuinely depressed people. Unfortunately their depression wasn’t something they realized, one sign being their excessive use of pills, like Mildred, who was told, “You took all the pills in your bottle last night”, to which she replied, “Oh, I wouldn’t do that”, she said, surprised” (17). Their technology was their downfall yet they didn't realize it. The people who did realize this though, was the government of the society. They used technology to make sure none of their citizens worried, or even really understood the concept of war, and because of that, they saw war as something that was regular and non-threatening, proved in what was said by Mildred and her friends, “I’ve never known any dead man killed in a war” (91). The goal of the government was to keep their people occupied and mindless so they could get whatever they wanted to get done, done, yet it backfired on them, as most had a war internally due to their

The dictionary defines island as “a tract of land surrounded by water and is smaller than a continent”. The one and only A.N. Island was made an official island by Peter Nguyen on December 17, 1990. He was traveling on the ocean when he bumped into a piece of rock. He didn’t notice that he had bumped into the Cave of Death until Death Bear came. He was lucky that he had weapons on his boat such as robogun that he had invented. As Peter defeated Death Bear, the villagers that had already lived there chose Peter to be their leader. Because Khuyen Nguyen was his wife, she became the First Lady in A.N. Island. When his son was old enough, Peter chose his oldest son,…

Dark and isolated features of the dystopian society are symbolized by Mildred. One dark aspect of this society is knowledge. Mildred, like everyone else, in this society would be more likely viewing television than thinking for herself. Here, the government is structured in a way which individuals no longer have to think for themselves, but the leaders’ reason for them. For example, when Mildred was trusted with thinking for herself there were complications and the emotions that trailed were “Montag was cut in half. He felt his chest chopped down and split apart.” (11). Mildred could not grip thinking roughly how many sleeping pills she had taken so, she overdosed therefore causing Montag…

(SIP-A) Mildred has been so obsessed with all her electronics that she has developed a non communication relationship with Montag. (STEWE-1)” ’Will you turn the parlor off?’ he asked. ‘That's my family.’ ‘Will you turn it off for a sick man?’ ‘I'll turn it down’ “ (46). Mildred yet again shows the consequences of focusing on almost only electronics. She is so addicted that she refuses to turn the parlor off even though Montag is sick. She even refers to the parlor walls as her ‘family’, even though they are not real, and her real family is right in front of her. (STEWE-2) Mildred's addiction has gotten so bad that her mind is so full of stuff that she doesn't remember important events in her life. “ ‘When did we meet? And where?’... ‘I don't know,’ she said “ (40). Mildred has been so caught up in all this fake “stuff” that it has caused her to not really care about her relationship with Montag. (STEWE-3) Mildred and Montag have lost connection because they have been only caring about materials and not each other. ” ‘I can't talk to my wife; she listens to the walls’ “ (78). Mildred yet again shows that she only cares about what is NOT important in life, instead of having a strong relationship with Montag. (SIP-B) Other people in the society don't have strong relationships because they are not focused on each other and they don't truly care about each other. (STEWE-1) Mrs. Phelps’ relationship with her husband shows that they don't really have a strong bond with each other.” ‘He said, if I get killed off, you just go right ahead and don't cry, but get married again, and don't think of me’ “ (91). To these people, marriage is like a game and they treat each other like objects. No sane person would not mourn a lost loved one unless they are focused on all the fake “stuff” instead of building a stronger relationship. (STEWE-2) They don't even care about their own children…

At the Gym, written by Mark Doty; has no relation with being at the gym at all; metaphorically speaking it pertains to attending church. The narrative provided is from the author's observation of other people in the church. The primary metaphor of this poem is religiously based in the sense people have determination to release their burdens with the desire of overcoming tribulations through prayer. Many smaller metaphors inside the poem leading the reader to believe there is faith veiled throughout. This metaphor is explained in this essay by many other small metaphors; Salt-stain is really tears, the vinyl is from the pews/benches in the church. “If people have the idea of going to war and the idea that war is the way in which certain situations, defined within their society, are to be handled, they will sometimes go to war” (Mead 503). This proves that if the idea of war is implemented by a society and engraved in the minds of the citizens, the people will see war as necessary. A prime example of this is that of the Andaman’s. This low-level society, which participated in hunting and gathering traditions, lived simpler than the Eskimos. Even with this lack of sophistication, the Andaman people knew about warfare. This society had an army of only fifteen people, yet they still battled in war. The underdeveloped Andaman society demonstrates that war is an invention of society. The Andaman people knew very little and still they engaged in war because it was an idea that was etched into their head by their…

I am applying for the medical billing position that is being offered here in Dr. Burn’s office. I have some knowledge of Medical Billing because I had worked for a clinic locally in the past. I was faced with a challenge ten months ago when the construction company I had been managing was sold which resulted in major cuts. When I was faced with the challenge of looking for a job I remembered through my experience at the clinic listening to the volunteer doctors who would come in regularly with the same complaint, “The biller just quit again!” That reflection helped me to discover that this would be the direction I would go in. I taught myself the system they were using, which was extremely intense. My one attribute with regard to succeeding is that I have a burning desire to do my best at anything I take on.…

“There were not six million Jews murdered; there was one murder, six million times.” said the Holocaust survivor Abel Herzberg. (Herzberg) Holocaust was the most terrific event in the history of civilization that comprised genocides of Jews, physically disabled, homosexual and gypsies, in death camps. Elie goes through torture and terror and is treated as animals like other Jews. Elie doesn’t see any hope of light coming to his life which is dark and unpredictable as Night. Night is a memoir inscribed by Elie talking about the dreadful incident, his relationship with his father and how he lost his faith in God. It is endured with sorrow, horror and sufferings. Revolted by the torture he must sustain, Elie questions if God really exists, “Why, but why should I bless him? Because he in his great might, had created Auschwitz, Birkenau, Buna, and so many other factories of death? (67). Elie’s faith is devastated and shaken. He has changed from how he was as a child. Holocaust changes him as a person, takes away his interest in religion, makes him loose his faith, fills him with hatred and changes his view towards the Lord.…
