She also redesigned their kitchen and made little adjustments that would suit her needs and increase the efficiency of work (cooking) done in the kitchen. She also works with workmen and gave them advice on how to efficiently build kitchen counters or elevated bathroom. She had her own ways and system that was much better than the normal ways of doing things so most respect her advice. Due to Annie's mother way of thinking and doing things she inspired a lot of people including Annie to think outside the norm and to always think of a way to improve
something.

Another foundation that was instilled in Annie by her mother was humility. Humility is a very important attribute one has needs in life in order for one to be successful and to have a good relationship with others. When she was little Annie’s mom would ask her to spell a random word out of nowhere she did this to remind her that she is not omniscient and that no one is even herself.
