In the story of the Parrot In the Oven, the plot is based on the Poverty community of the Mexican immigration. The themes of story is based on dealing with racism, poverty,and violence. To Show the reader to understand what what is the life of the new Mexican immigrant. The author Martinez want the reader to know what is the life is like as Mexican immigrant, what kind of problem are they facing, and to to change the situation. Magda as a character who give her life in very young, and it show the people relationship between.

This story takes place in the middle of California. But honestly, we don't hear much about California. Or the town where Manny and his family live. We know it has a some schools, rich houses, and low income
