condition, and the new complexity. Finally, for my own personal origin story, I think that where I was before in the past and where I am now in the present is a good way for me to explain how my life has the ingredients, and the “goldilocks” condition for me to explain where I am today and my new complexity.
A way that the modern scientific origin story helps explain thresholds of increasing complexity is one example of how stars came to be. The ingredients portion of this includes “hydrogen, helium, gravity, a strong nuclear force, and fusion” (Unknown author, “Threshold Concentration” Big History Project. Web. Oct.6 2016). These are basically the elements that made stars come to be. Next, the two “Goldilocks” conditions would be considered that the heat was just right to make the stars come together. It was about “10 million degrees celsius”(Unknown author, “Threshold Concentration” Big History Project. Web. Oct.6 2016) that it would create a strong nuclear force to bring the stars together. The result of this or the “New Complexity” would be the start of new stars, galaxies, clusters, and superclusters(Unknown author, “Threshold Concentration” Big History Project. Web. Oct.6 2016) stars are basically a present example on how increasing complexity works. “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” has a similar subject.
Next, in the story “A Diary of a Part-Time Indian” the whole book is about how Junior is forced to make the decision on getting a good education or not.
This story shows how Junior has the right ingredients to have a new complexity that fits him. So to start it off, the ingredients that Junior has in him would be his superior intelligence being compared to a lot of his peers(Alexie, Sherman. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. New York: Little, Brown and Company, 2007. Print). He is also very athletic and you would see this in the book when he starts talking about his high school career in basketball(Alexie, Sherman. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. New York: Little, Brown and Company, 2007. Print) Lastly, he is a very artistic person because he says he loves to draw pictures, especially with his best friend rowdy(Alexie, Sherman. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. New York: Little, Brown and Company, 2007. Print). The one “goldilocks condition” would be considered him getting a chance to go to a good school to get a better education. He was able to do get this opportunity through the people he knew dearly and the support from others. But it wasn’t just his friends and family, but he also believed in himself. The “new complexity” would be him making it in life. He gets the education he wants and get into Reardan so he can have a brighter future. Junior’s whole life story gets better in the end and that shows how his story is an example of a new complexity. My own personal origin story is somewhat
relatable
For my own personal origin story, I feel that my life now has somewhat of a better future. It had good “ingredients” and my “new complexity” turned out great. Some of the ingredients in my personal origin story would be being an athletic, smart, and hard worker. I would say that I’m athletic because I have been playing soccer all of my life. I would also say that I'm smart or an “average” student because I always get A’s and B’s on my grades. I also think I am a hard worker because I usually am being constantly told that by peers and my family. Next would be my “goldilocks condition,” I have to say that getting the opportunity to apply to Church Farm School would be my “goldilocks condition.” If I didn’t come to this school I feel that it would have been a huge waste for me to be able to get a better education and benefit me more for an athletic career. Lastly, my new complexity would be getting into to Church Farm School and being able to attend the school. I also got to increase my athletic ability at the school. My origin story is somewhat similar to Juniors and being able to attend a new school to help get a better education is a perfect way to give an example of thresholds of increasing complexity.
In conclusion, All narratives include the elements that help explain thresholds of increasing complexities. In the beginning, I talked about how science can also be an example of thresholds of new complexities. I showed that through how stars were formed and how the elements were the ingredients, and the elements coming together to create stars was the “goldilocks condition.” In the book “Diary of a Part-Time Indian,” Juniors personalities counted as his ingredients and then through that transformed into a new complexity of getting into a good school. We have our own different ingredients that transform our own “goldilocks conditions,”which in turn, form new complexities.
